Capital One Shopping is legit shopping extension that helps members save with coupon codes and deals. And it's one of the most popular (and free) tools to help online shoppers keep more money in their wallet.

It's also an extension I've used for years. But is it worth using? And how does it even work?

This Capital One Shopping review is covering all of its best features, it rewards system, and how to decide if it's right for you.

Key Takeaways:

  • Capital One Shopping is a free browser extension and mobile app
  • It helps users save by automatically applying available coupon codes at checkout at 30,000+ retailers
  • It also offers price comparisons, shopping rewards, and other useful tools
  • This is a legit and powerful money-saving tool that online shoppers should use

Is Capital One Shopping Legit?

Capital One Shopping is legit and helps over 9 million users save more money by automatically applying available coupon codes at checkout. It's also highly rated, with a 4.8 star rating on the Google Web Store and a 4.9 star rating on the Apple App Store.

This extension doesn't always find coupon codes. But Capital One Shopping works with over 30,000 online retailers. Plus, it's 100% free to use and is ad-free, so you can find potential savings on autopilot without paying anything.

Overall, Capital One Shopping is one of the most popular shopping extensions out there. Most users are happy with how easy it is to use and the fact it's free. And most negative reviews come from users who are frustrated when it doesn't find coupon codes.

What Is Capital One Shopping?

Capital One Financial Corporation is an American financial company that's best known for its credit cards, loans, and various banking products. And it's the parent company behind the massively popular shopping extension, Capital One Shopping.

Capital One Shopping is an extension, mobile app, and website that helps members save with coupon codes and by comparing deals.

CouponCabin-app

Once you download its extension, Capital One Shopping works in the background to compare prices and search for available coupon codes when you're checking out. Shoppers can also receive Capital One Shopping rewards for certain purchases and redeem those rewards for gift cards.

My favorite part about Capital One Shopping is that it's 100% free to use. You just need to be 18 or older and live in the United States, Canada, Australia, or the UK. You don't need to be a Capital One bank or credit card customer either.

How Does Capital One Shopping Work?

Capital One Shopping's extension works in the background to find you savings. You can download it for free on several browsers, including Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari.

You can also use Capital One Shopping's website to search for deals and manage your account. Additionally, it has an Android and iOS app, which are useful if you prefer shopping from your phone.

Once you download Capital One Shopping, you're ready to save more money with the following features:

  1. Coupon codes
  2. Amazon price comparisons
  3. Shopping rewards
  4. Hotel deals
  5. Mobile app
  6. Product searches

1. Capital One Shopping Coupon Codes

Capital One Shopping works with 30,000+ retailers and searches for available coupon codes as you're checking out and automatically applies them for you.

As long as you have the extension active, it'll notify you when a store you're shopping at works with Capital One Shopping. All you have to do is click “try codes” at checkout, and Capital One Shopping will get to work, automatically applying codes and hopefully finding one that works.

This process is way faster than doing it yourself. And it's less frustrating than digging around the web for expired coupon codes that never work.

Plus, Capital One Shopping works with some massive retailers, including:

  • Adidas
  • Amazon
  • Banana Republic
  • Best Buy
  • Bose
  • Columbia
  • CVS
  • eBay
  • Home Depot
  • Nike
  • Saks Fifth Ave
  • Sam’s Club
  • Staples
  • Target
  • Temu
  • Walmart
  • Wayfair

Again, you don't always find coupon codes. But this saves time and is essentially free money back in your pocket for zero work.

2. Amazon Price Comparisons

Another Capital One Shopping feature I love is its Amazon price comparison feature. This involves comparing prices on Amazon to other sellers around the web. If Capital One Shopping finds a lower price, it notifies you with a pop-up so you don't miss out on potential savings.

Just look at the example below: Capital One Shopping found almost $115 in savings on Bose QuiteComfort 35 bluetooth headphones by finding a different seller to Amazon:

I like that this feature also factors in shipping and taxes. And if you're buying something quite expensive, like electronics or appliances, I think this type of price comparison is very powerful.

?? The 20+ Best Reward Apps To Save.

3. Capital One Shopping Rewards

Even if Capital One Shopping doesn’t find coupons or the best price for you, you can sometimes earn rewards when you use it to shop.

Capital One Shopping works with various partner retailers and gives you rewards when you shop. You can then redeem your rewards for gift card prizes to companies like Walmart, Sephora, Macy's, Nike, and plenty of others.

Some gift cards are redeemable at only $5, which doesn't take too long to earn. And I really like the variety of gift cards.

You can't redeem free PayPal money or cash to your bank account, which is a downside. But gift card variety is still great.

?? The Top Free Apps Paying Real Money Fast.

4. Hotel Deals

If you travel frequently, this special feature can add up to big discounts on travel. Use this resource to get as much as 5 to 10% back on hotel stays, which can really add up quickly if your trip is more than one night.

You can also use Capital One Shopping to save money on event tickets, car rentals and more.

5. Mobile App

You can use Capital One Shopping's mobile app for Android or iOS if you prefer shopping from your phone. The app is super similar to the desktop version/extension, and I think it's especially great on iPhone.

I still largely prefer the extension and shop from my laptop more than my phone. But you can always try both versions to see which one you prefer.

6. Product Search

Similar to the price comparison widget, the product search feature can help you search the web for the best deals on the product you’ve got your eye on.

Not only can you check out the product across various sites, there is also additional useful information like reviews, price history, related products and more. And I think this is a great feature if you're shopping for something expensive or a product category where sale prices can make a massive difference, such as kitchen appliances, electronics, or tech.

How Much Can Capital One Shopping Save You?

The amount of money that you save with Capital One Shopping depends on how much you use this online tool, however even just occasional online orders can really add up. For example, if Capital One Shopping finds you a 15% coupon on a $100 purchase, that's $15 in savings, all for using a free tool.

Frequent online shoppers can also take advantage of its rewards program to get gift cards. Overall, WebMonkey's team recommends that anyone who online shops tries out Capital One Shopping.

Is Capital One Shopping Safe?

Capital One Shopping is safe, and you don't have to enter your credit card information or pay to use it. However, the company does collect information about the websites you visit, products you buy, and other information about how you use the web.

While they do share this information with their partners to provide services, they don't sell your information for outside marketing.

For more information visit the Capital One Shopping privacy policy. Questions about their privacy policy can be sent to [email protected].

Is Capital One Shopping Worth It?

Capital One Shopping is worth it if you want a free and easy way to save more money online. And it's much more efficient than looking for coupon codes yourself. Plus, you can earn rewards when you shop at specific retailers and easily compare prices between different sellers.

Installing in just a few clicks, you can choose to use the savings info it shares, or ignore it and use different offers instead. Either way, it’s an easy way to save on online shopping with almost no work and is a great money saving app for busy individuals.

In contrast, if you don't do much shopping, you can probably skip Capital One Shopping and have one fewer extension in your life.

?? How To Get Paid For Shopping.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Capital One Shopping is 100% free to use
  • Works with 30,000+ popular retailers
  • Available on numerous browsers and Android/iOS
  • Very easy to use
  • Powerful price comparison tools
  • You can also get gift card rewards

Cons:

  • Coupon codes don't always work
  • Rewards can take a while to process and receive
  • Capital One Shopping is only functional in a few countries

The Best Capital One Shopping Alternatives

I think everyone should try out Capital One Shopping before their next online shopping trip. But it's far from the only way to save.

Some of my favorite alternatives to Capital One Shopping include:

  • Rakuten (for cash back)
  • Fetch (for groceries)
  • Pogo (for PayPal cash rewards)
  • Dosh (for travel deals)
  • Coupert (for versatility)
  • Honey (for free gift cards)
  • Kudos (for credit card rewards)

You can try out several of these companies to compare how much they help you save. And apps like Fetch, Pogo, and Dosh are also great for in-store shopping.

Is There A $10 Capital One Shopping Bonus?

There's been a $10 Capital One Shopping sign up bonus at different points in time. But this promotion isn't always running and may vary based on the time of year. But don't worry if there's no bonus – you can still find easy savings with this free tool, and it only takes a minute to get started.

You can also read our post on the top $10 sign up bonuses or, for even more earnings, the best $50 sign up bonus.

Is There Customer Support?

You can get in touch with customer support by emailing [email protected].

Final Thoughts

Overall, Capital One Shopping is a 100% free tool to save money online. It can help you find the best deals on what you are shopping for, automatically apply available coupons and can give you rewards as well.

And with millions of users, this is a trusted resource that savvy shoppers use to save money. They partner with major retailers in a wide variety of industries.

If you do any online shopping, we suggest trying Capital One Shopping. Hopefully, it helps you keep more of your hard-earned money in your wallet this month.

Cleo is a popular AI-powered chatbot that can help users save more money and build good financial habits. And it's also a leading app for cash advances that can spot users up to $250 if they're in a pinch.

But is Cleo Plus worth paying for to unlock all its features? And what do other users have to say about this all-in-one finance app?

Our Cleo review is covering how it works, its pricing, and how to ultimately decide if this app is worth using.

Want more fast money-makers? Checkout:

  • EarnIn: Borrow up to $750 against an upcoming paycheck!
  • TurboDebt: Get fast debt relief assistance if you have $10,000+ in debt!

Key Takeaways:

  • Cleo lets users borrow $20 to $250 in a cash advance
  • The app also offers budgeting, saving, and credit building tools
  • You can use Cleo's humorous AI chatbot to roast your finances or to ask for advice
  • There's no credit check requirement or interest on cash advances
  • Cleo Plus costs $5.99 per month and unlocks many of its best features

Is Cleo Legit?

Cleo is legit and helps its members save more money, budget, and take out cash advances if they need a helping hand. The app is also popular, with a 4 star rating on Trustpilot with over 3,200 reviews.

If you're trying to save extra money each month, Cleo's AI chatbot and budgeting tools could be what you're looking for. We also like its cash advance feature since it's similar to apps like EarnIn and Super, which let you borrow up to $750 and $250 respectively.

If you just want a budgeting app, alternatives like Rocket Money are a better choice in our experience. But Cleo is a comprehensive app that also caters to gig workers and freelancers as well as full-time employees.

What Is Cleo?

Cleo is a London-based FinTech startup that was founded in 2016. The Cleo app, sometimes called Meet Cleo, is available on both the Android and iOS app store.

Currently, Cleo has more than 5 million users, and this app is pretty much the fastest growing app the FinTech world has ever seen.

Klover

Cleo has been incredibly popular for younger crowds/millennials, and this is by design. The Cleo app has a sleek interface, does all the work for the user, and mixes in witty bits of sarcasm to make managing your finances feel more engaging or humorous.

Its cash advance feature is also incredibly useful. It lets members borrow up to $250 against an upcoming paycheck and doesn't charge interest or require a credit check. And it's even available to gig workers and freelancers.

Overall, Cleo is a great solution if you need cash to pay rent or upcoming bills. And we like that it has a host of budgeting and saving tools for a long-term financial gameplan.

How Does The Cleo App Work?

Users have to connect their banking details to Cleo to allow the AI-powered chatbot to analyze spending patterns and actually get to work. You can use the platform through the mobile app version or Facebook Messenger.

Most major banks are supported, and setup only takes 2-3 minutes. If your bank isn't supported, you can request support with setup as well.

You can connect multiple accounts to the app, and actually using certain features is easy. For example, typing or saying ‘budget' will prompt the app to start working with you to create a budget.

Cleo operates on a freemium model like many other finance based apps. However, users still get some nifty features with the free version of  Cleo, which makes it easy to test out the platform before trying out Cleo Plus (more on why this feature later on).

Here are some of the main Cleo features to know about:

1. Cleo Cash Advances

The Cleo app lets users borrow $20 to $250 against an upcoming paycheck without paying interest or going through a credit check.

First-time users can only borrow $20 to $100. But you can increase your limit over time, and Cleo connects to your bank account to monitor your income and determines how much you're eligible to borrow.

Most cash advance apps require having a full-time job and regular paychecks to qualify. But Cleo works with side hustlers and freelancers, which is certainly a unique selling point.

Once you take out an advance, you have 14 days to pay Cleo back. Also note that funds take up to 4 days to appear in your linked bank account if you don't want to pay fees. If you need money instantly, you pay a $3.99 express fee.

Apps like EarnIn offer higher cash advance limits of up to $750 per pay period. But EarnIn doesn't work with gig workers, so Cleo is certainly easier to qualify for.

2. Track Your Spending

The most basic feature Cleo offers is the ability to track your spending. Once you connect your bank account to the app, you'll be able to view your balance, spending categories, and get an easy overview of your bank account.

This isn't much different than most budgeting apps, like Rocket Money or YNAB. However, you can also ask the Cleo app several questions, such as:

  • How much do I spend on a certain category? (Such as food, rent, etc.)
  • What's my largest expense?
  • How much have I spent on alcohol this month?
  • Show upcoming bills.
  • How am I doing on my budget?

You get the idea. The Cleo makes it pretty simple to get a general sense of how you're doing for the month in terms of spending.

3. Budgeting Tools

Cleo is more of a financial assistant and less of a pure budgeting app. However, the app still makes it very easy to set budgets for different spending categories and to track your budget throughout the month.

Cleo-Budgeting

Users can set their own budgets on Cleo or rely on AI-powered recommendations to set spending limits. This feature is great for anyone who struggles with budgeting or wants a bit of a helping hand to make sure their spending isn't off the rails.

Cleo monitors your purchases and alerts you if you are approaching a budget limit. As shown above, you can also ask Cleo if spending on a certain category, like dinner or drinks, is a good financial decision or not.

Additionally, you can set budgets for different time periods, which is useful if you want to monitor your spending during a vacation or a weekend retreat somewhere.

4. Cleo Savings

Cleo now offers a high-yield savings account that currently pays 4.11% APY. It doesn't charge any fees either, and this is a nice way to earn passive income on your emergency fund or idle cash.

Earning 4.11% APY is significantly higher than the national average. Users can set a savings goal, like their total savings target and timeframe, and the app then provides savings reminders to help members achieve this goal.

On top of that, Cleo savings offers 4 savings hacks: Set & Forget, Roundups, Smart Save, and Swear Jar.

These are all different methods of moving money from your paychecks into your savings account. Again, this is part of how Cleo makes financial management a bit more fun.

We also like that Cleo savings provides up to $3 million in FDIC insurance through its partner bank, Thread Bank. There's no minimum deposit requirement which is pretty neat too.

Just note: Cleo savings requires paying a $2.99 per month subscription for Cleo Grow. Alternatively, you can pay $5.99 per month for Cleo Plus, which unlocks all of Cleo's features.

If you want a free alternative, you can check out Current. This savings solution pays 4% APY and also has a nice $50 sign-up bonus for you to snag right now.

?? Pro Tip: Find the best high-yield savings accounts on the market with Raisin! This platform doesn't charge any fees and lets you find the best savings products for your goals.

5. Cleo Credit Builder Card

Another new Cleo feature is its credit builder card, a secured credit card that helps people improve their credit scores.

The main features of the Cleo Credit Builder card include:

  • No minimum deposit requirement
  • No fees
  • No hard credit checks
  • Access your paycheck two days early

You have to put cash into your security deposit to unlock a higher credit limit, but this is how secured credit cards work. But in exchange, you can start to improve your credit score as you use the funds to pay for things like gas, groceries, and everyday expenses.

And Cleo just has a $1 minimum direct deposit requirement, so you don't need to add a ton of cash to your card.

Requirements for Cleo's Credit Builder card include:

  • Being 18 or older
  • Have a SSN
  • Get contacted by Cleo via the app and email to try out the card (it's still in testing)

Honestly, a secured credit card can be a useful tool to improve your credit score if you're struggling, so it's nice to see that Cleo is continuing to add these sorts of services.

Also note that Cleo lets you check your credit score if you're a Cleo Builder or Plus user. You just need to type in “credit score” to Cleo and it will provide your score from Equifax.

?? Pro Tip: Get a more comprehensive credit score and ongoing monitoring from CheckFreeScore.com. Stay in the loop about your credit score and learn how to improve it faster.

How Much Does Cleo Cost? – Cleo Plus Pricing & Other Plans

The basic version of Cleo is free. However, users have to upgrade to Cleo Plus for $5.99 per month to unlock most features, including cash advances. There's also the Cleo Grow plan for $2.99 per month and Cleo Credit Builder plan for $14.99 per month.

Here's a breakdown of Cleo's pricing and what you get with different plans:

FeatureFree PlanCleo GrowCleo PlusCleo Credit Builder
Monthly Cost$0$2.99$5.99$14.99
Budgeting ToolsYesYesYesYes
Cash AdvancesNoNoYesYes
Credit ScoresNoNoYesYes
Credit BuilderNoNoOnly Credit ScoresScores + Credit Building Card
Savings AccountNoYesYesYes

As you can see, the free version of Cleo is really just a budgeting app with some AI-powered humor. And Cleo Grow only unlocks a decent high-yield savings account.

Cleo Plus is where the app really shines. And paying $5.99 per month to access cash advances is pretty competitive with a lot of other apps in the space.

As for the credit builder, it's a bit on the pricey side. We recommend using a solution like Kikoff instead if you're on a mission to improve your credit score.

?? The Best Ways To Get $500 By Tomorrow.

Is Cleo Worth It?

Cleo is worth using if you want a humorous budgeting app that also provides access to cash advances and a competitive high-yield savings account. However, we think most users should upgrade to Cleo Plus for $5.99 per month to unlock the app's best features.

If you just stick with the free app, there are plenty of better or similar budgeting alternatives out there. And we're fans of solutions like Rocket Money or a simple DIY spreadsheet.

But with Cleo Plus, you get a pretty decent savings account. And cash advances of up to $250 is another selling point.

?? Get started with Cleo!

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Cleo works with gig workers and freelancers for cash advances
  • Humorous AI-powered chatbot puts a fun twist on budgeting
  • Competitive high-yield savings account
  • Cash advances don't charge interest or require a credit check
  • You can try Cleo for free to test it out

Cons:

  • Most Cleo features require Cleo Plus
  • Expensive credit builder plan
  • Cleo's pricing has changed a lot over the years and can be a bit confusing

The Best Apps Like Cleo

We think Cleo is a leading budgeting and cash advance app for good reason. But there are several useful apps like Cleo you should consider, especially if you're fully employed and want larger cash advances.

Some of the best Cleo alternatives include:

EarnIn is our overall pick since you can borrow up to $100 per day, for a total of $750, within a given pay period. And it's more affordable than Cleo too. However, Cleo is our number one pick for freelancers or gig workers who don't qualify for most other cash advance apps.

?? How To Make $1,000 In 24 Hours.

Other Cleo Reviews From Users

Cleo currently has a 4 and 4.6 star review average on the Google Play store and iOS store respectively, and the app certainly generates a lot of great press and feedback.

From the other Cleo reviews I've read, it seems like people generally like Cleo Plus for its cash advance feature. People also enjoy its humorous budgeting tools and how Cleo helps beginners understand a broad picture of their financial well-being and where they spend most of their money.

Cleo-User-Testimonial
If you read through Cleo reviews on the Google Play store or IOS store you'll see loads of comments like these.

However, some negative Cleo reviews come from users who are unhappy with cash advances. This is because while Cleo can give you up to $250 in an advance, first-time users get a maximum limit of $100. And many users qualify for a lot less or don't qualify at all.

Testimonial-2

Again, your cash advance limit depends on your earning history. You can increase it over time, but you won't get a $250 limit as soon as you upgrade to Cleo Plus.

Is Cleo Safe?

Like pretty much any major FinTech product, Cleo uses bank-level encryption and doesn't save your personal information. It's a safe app to use overall.

Cleo also can't make changes to your account when viewing your banking information, and accounts are backed by a $250K guarantee. Confusingly, their support page states it's more of a £85,000 pledge, so I have no idea what's actually covered here.

Final Thoughts

I hope my Cleo app review helps you decide if this humorous little AI chatbot is worth using or not.

I love that Cleo continues to add new features, and I think the future is very promising for this app.

Whether or not you upgrade to Cleo Plus or Cleo Crusher is up to you. If you do, I hope the extra features help you stay more on top of your finances!

Super.com is an all-in-one money app that's designed to help its members make and save more money. And it's a legit way to find travel deals, cash-back opportunities, and new side hustle opportunities.

But is Super.com legit? And is its premium membership worth paying for?

Our Super.com review is sharing how this platform works, its perks, and how to ultimately decide if it's right for you.

Key Takeaways:

  • Super.com is an all-in-one platform to help you save and make more money
  • It offers travel deals, coupons, cash-back offers, paid games, and online surveys
  • You can use the Super Card to take out cash advances and earn cash back
  • A Super+ membership costs $15 per month and unlocks most features

Is Super.com Legit?

Super.com is legit and has helped over 30 million members save money on travel and find new income opportunities. It has a 3.9 out of 5 stars on Trustpilot with a whopping 32,000+ reviews. The site also has a 4.02 out of 5 stars and an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

That being said, Super.com reviews are mixed. Some users love the features of the website and use it to save money on travel. Other users are frustrated with poor customer service and problems with hotel bookings.

However, I'm excited that Super.com is introducing more features, like paid surveys, gaming offers, cash-back deals, and other side hustles. It's truly becoming a more versatile platform that extends beyond travel.

Just note that most of these new features are only available to paid members of Super+. This membership costs $15 per month, and I'll explain all of the perks you get later on in this review.

What Is Super.com & What Does It Offer?

Super.com is a financial app designed to help members earn and save more money. The platform has over 30 million members and started out as a travel deals website. But it's now expanding to include more saving and earning options for its members.

You can sign up for free if you're 18 or older. All you need to do is enter your phone number and verify it to create an account. You can then use Super.com's website version or free Android or iOS app.

Once you're a member, you can then explore a variety of travel deals, money-saving features, and hustles to get quick money based on your goals.

Super.com specifies that you do need to be the “age of majority” to register and use their services. This is 18 years of age in most states and provinces. You will also need to have a bank account.

While you can use the free version of Super.com for limited activities, a paid membership, known as Super+ is needed for the following.

1. Travel Deals

Super.com started out as a travel deals website. And this is still one of the website's main features.

Under the Travel tab, you can search for hotel and travel agency deals. The process is similar to using Expedia or Hotels.com, and all you have to do is enter your destination and dates to search for deals.

Super.com says you can save up to 50% on top-rated hotels. And it works with over 500,000 hotels around the world. You just book your accommodations through Super.com and then present your booking details to the partner hotel when you check in.

Super+ members can also get 5% off flights, 10% cashback on hotels, and extra discounts on attractions as well.

2. Super.com Cash Advances

One new Super.com feature we love at WebMonkey is its cash advance feature. And if you need money to pay rent or other bills urgently, this feature can be a lifesaver.

Super.com cash advances let you borrow $20 to $250 against an upcoming paycheck. There's no interest, hidden fees, or credit check either. You just have to pay Super back once you get paid.

This cash advance feature is part of Super Pay – which is Super's debit card you can use to pay for daily expenses or request a cash advance. So, you'll have to apply for a Super card to unlock this feature.

The main selling point is that there's no deposit fee if you wait a few days for your cash advance. Alternatively, you can pay a variable express fee if you need money immediately.

What's nice is that pretty much anyone can use Super Pay and get a card since it's a secured card. You just have to be 18 or older and have an SSN. However, your cash advance limit varies based on your employment and paycheck history, and not every user qualifies.

?? How To Get $500 By Tomorrow.

3. Games & Paid Surveys

Looking to earn some extra cash? Well, Super+ members can also earn money by playing games, completing online tasks, and answering cash surveys.

The company advertises that you can earn up to $430 per month with these kind of tasks. And if you like similar get-paid-to sites like Freecash or Branded Surveys, this earning section should be right up your alley.

Just don't expect this earning feature to replace your day job. You generally earn $3 to $7 per hour, or something within this range, when it comes to games and surveys. But this is a fun side hustle that you can use to boost your income without much effort.

?? The Best Legit Cash Game Apps That Pay.

4. Cashback Deals

Super+ members can earn additional cash back when they shop online through Super.com. And the Super Card also pays 1% cash back and helps you build your credit at the same time which is pretty cool.

For online shopping deals, I still prefer shopping extensions like Rakuten and Coupert. But earning 1% cash back from your Super Card is a huge selling point. You also get to monitor your credit score with this card, which is neat.

Just note Super.com caps you at $100 in monthly cash back and $500 in annual cash back. This is still a ton of free money up for grabs, but it's a downside worth noting.

?? Sign up for Super today!

5. Coupons & Savings

In addition to cash-back offers and travel discounts, Super+ users may also qualify for additional coupons and savings. Specifically, you can find savings on:

  • Gas
  • Insurance plans
  • Prescriptions

The insurance comparison tool is pretty useful and can help you find cheaper plans for different kinds of insurance. And Super says you can even save up to 90% on your prescriptions.

On top of that, there's a new feature that lets you scan receipts to earn cash back. This is similar to reward apps like Fetch and Ibotta, so I suggest checking out this feature if you do a lot of shopping for your household.

?? How To Get Paid To Shop.

How Much Does Super+ Cost?

Super.com has two plans available. The free plan lets you find travel and hotel deals. You can also upgrade to Super+ to access all of its earning and saving features.

Super+ costs $15 a month and includes these main benefits:

  • Get 10% in cash back and gas rewards on your hotel stays that you book through Super.com
  • Receive cashback on your purchases for hotels, flights and online shopping
  • Make money playing games and taking surveys
  • Qualify for additional savings on gas, prescriptions and phone plans

Super says its Plus members can earn over $250 per month and save over $150 per month with these features. And if you take advantage of a few of these features, paying $15 per month is likely worth it, especially if you're earning a decent amount of cash back.

?? The Highest Paying Apps To Try This Year.

Is Super.com A Scam?

Super.com isn't a scam, and it's an effective way to find travel and hotel deals. Its also adding new ways for premium members to earn and save more each month. However, most new features require upgrading to Super+ for $15 per month.

It's also important to read the fine print when making any travel bookings through Super.com. Many hotels don't offer refunds if you book a stay through a third-party website. This includes Super.com, and many negative reviews come from frustrated travelers who didn't realize they were voiding refund policies.

Just take some negative Super.com reviews with a grain of salt. Travel is one of those industries where negative reviews are common. After all, frustrated travelers are more likely to leave a review than someone who loved their vacation.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Numerous ways to save money while traveling
  • Super Card offers cash back and up to $250 cash advances
  • Super.com keeps adding new ways to earn
  • Extensive coupon and cash-back opportunities
  • Desktop and mobile apps are available

Cons:

  • Most new features require upgrading to Super+
  • $500 annual limit on cash back
  • Not all users qualify for cash advances
  • Travel bookings can void hotel refund policies
  • Some users report issues to Super.com bookings

What Are Some Good Alternatives To Try?

Since Super.com is sort of an all-in-one finance platform, there aren't many direct alternatives. However, you can still use different apps and sites that offer some of Super.com's features, including:

My advice is to try out Super.com to see how you like it. Paying $15 a month isn't too outrageous if you take advantage of all its features. Plus, you can likely earn enough cash back to cover your membership cost.

Note: Capital One Shopping compensates us when you sign up with the provided links.

Is Super.com Worth It?

Super.com is worth it if you want a comprehensive platform for saving money on travel and everyday shopping. And it's Super Card is an excellent way to earn cash back, take out cash advances, and build your credit at the same time.

Upgrading to Super+ is also worth it if you want to start earning money online and like using money-making apps in your spare time.

If you don't travel or shop much, Super.com is less useful. And its premium membership probably isn't worth it if you won't earn that much cash back or try any of its money-making features.

Is There Customer Support?

To contact Super.com customer service, you can use the Super app, visit Super.com or call their customer service team at 844-461-2577. You can also email [email protected].

?? The Best Daily Paying Online Jobs.

Final Thoughts

Super.com is definitely another travel resource to add to your list. And I love that it's adding new ways for people to make and save more money each month.

My ultimate recommendation is to decide if Super+ is worth it for you. You can then upgrade and begin earning cash back and rewards to easily cover your membership cost.

Hopefully, our Super.com review helps you decide if this platform is worth using or not!

According to a recent survey from Bankrate, 57% of Americans can't afford a $1,000 emergency right now.

The fact is saving money and building up a cushion of cash isn't easy for everyone. And with many goods getting more expensive, it can really feel like your wallet is being squeezed.

That's why in this post, I'm covering 10+ of my favorite ways to save more money each month.

I've been testing out different money-making and money-saving tips ever since my time in college. And with a few of these tips, you can keep more of your hard-earned money in your bank account.

Want some quick money-saving wins? Checkout:

  • Rocket Money: Our favorite budgeting app that also helps you cancel unused subscriptions!
  • Capital One Shopping: This free extension automatically applies available coupon codes at 30,000+ online stores!

How To Save More Money Each Month

1. Create A Budget

In my experience, creating a monthly budget is the foundational element to saving more money each month. After all, if you don't know where your money is going, how can you possibly know how to save it?

You don't need to complicate things here either. In fact, all I use is a simple Excel spreadsheet to record my monthly spending on categories like rent, groceries, utilities, entertainment, car payments, and similar categories.

This YouTube video from personal finance expert Dave Ramsey also covers tips for how you can create a budget that works for you and actually stick to it.

And again: you don't have to complicate things. Using a simple spreadsheet can work perfectly. You can also consider using budgeting apps like Rocket Money or You Need A Budget to stay on top of monthly spending.

???Get started with Rocket Money!

2. Save Money When Online Shopping

Shopping online can be a great way to snag deals and save time. You also cut back on gas by not heading to the store.

However, online shopping can still tempt you to overspend. And if you don't use tools like Capital One Shopping, you might still miss out on potential savings.

Venmo 10 sign up bonus

This shopping browser extension automatically applies available coupon codes at 50,000+ stores when you shop. This all happens on autopilot, so you don't have to waste time searching the web for coupon codes that don't work anymore.

Capital One Shopping also helps you find deals on Amazon with its price comparison feature. And it's 100% free to use, which is why we love it at WebMonkey.

You can check out other shopping tools as well. For example, both Coupert and Rakuten help you earn cash back when you shop online too. But for upfront savings, we suggest trying out Capital One Shopping.

Note: Capital One Shopping compensates us when you sign up with the provided links.

3. Use Cashback Reward Apps

I've been using reward apps ever since college to earn cash back and free gift cards when shopping. And this is a very simple way to save a bit more money each month, especially if you do most of your household's shopping.

Some of the top apps that pay you for shopping include:

  • Upside: This gas rewards app pays you up to $0.25 per gallon.
  • Fetch: A popular grocery rewards app with gift card rewards.
  • Ibotta: One of the most popular U.S. cashback apps.
  • Pogo: A passive income app that pays you whenever you shop.
  • Bridge: Another app that pays you with passive income for every purchase.
  • P&G Good Everyday: Save money and get exclusive deals on P&G brands.

I also made a video that covers even more reward apps if you're curious.

You still need to stick to a budget when you shop. But in my experience, earning $10 to $25 per month with these apps is quite realistic, which is over $100 per year on the low end and $300 on the higher end!

?? Save money on gas with Upside!

4. Get Your Paycheck Earlier To Cover Bills

Life gets expensive sometimes. And there's?always?bills to pay like groceries, gas, or rent tomorrow.

However, you don't have to wait two weeks to get your paycheck. Instead, you can use a leading cash advance app like EarnIn or Dave to borrow money against an upcoming paycheck.

With EarnIn, you can borrow $100 per day, up to $750, in a given pay period. And you don't pay any interest either. In fact, there's no mandatory fee whatsoever if you wait a couple of days for your cash advance, and there's just a small Lightening Speed fee if you need the cash immediately.

All you have to do to get started is download EarnIn and connect your bank account to the app. EarnIn then analyzes your previous paycheck history to determine how much you can borrow.

Not everyone gets approved for the $750 limit. But you build your limit overtime with consistent paychecks and on-time payments. And solutions like EarnIn are ultimately?way?more affordable than wasting money on loans.

???Try out the EarnIn app today!

5. Cancel Some Subscriptions

If it's been a while since you've reviewed some of your monthly recurring charges, it could be time to cancel some of the unused ones.

Some of the sneakiest subscriptions people often forget about include:

  • Ecommerce subscriptions like Amazon Prime
  • Streaming subscriptions like Netflix or Hulu
  • Online app or website subscriptions
  • Memberships
  • Subscription boxes

If you don't use a service, ditch it and save more money. The only exception I'd suggest would be for fitness memberships, like a gym membership. If you don't use your gym membership, get more active and make sure you're getting your money's worth.

Pro Tip: You can use Rocket Money to find and cancel unused subscriptions and to track your monthly spending to avoid overspending!

6. Build An Emergency Fund

An emergency fund is a cash cushion you can build to cover emergencies when they pop up.

This could mean covering car repairs, a water heater breaking, or some other sudden expense. And having this fund is crucial if you want to avoid using your credit card or taking out a loan.

Putting a bit of money aside each month into a separate savings account is a good way to build this fund. Plus, you can earn passive income with this money as it sits on the sidelines.

For example, high-yield savings accounts like?Current?pay 4% APY on up to $6,000. It also has a $50 sign up bonus to sweeten the deal.

Current Bank

You can look for other savings accounts at your bank or in your country. And again, Raisin is a useful online marketplace you can use to find the highest rates for dozens of banks and credit unions. But the bottom line is building an emergency fund is a must if you want to be prepared.

7. Tackle High-Interest Debt

High-interest debt is one of the most painful drains on someone's monthly budget, especially if they're trying to save more.

So, if you're currently struggling with debt, my advice would be to create a game plan to pay it off as quickly as possible. And in this case, I recommend turning to experts like Dave Ramsey and his debt snowball method.

This strategy focuses on paying off your smallest amounts of debt first. This lowers your monthly payments more quickly and helps you build up momentum to tackle the larger payments.

You can also work with a debt relief company if you're struggling. For example, companies like TurboDebt can help you consolidate your high-interest debt if you have $10,000+ in debts like credit card bills or personal loans. And this can be a faster way to lower your monthly payments and begin tackling your debt.

With a bit of money from your paycheck and a side hustle, you can use this strategy to chip away at painful debt and to start saving more each month.

8. Search For Missing Money You're Owed

Did you know that the Government and other agencies currently owe?billions?of dollars in unclaimed funds to people?

That's right: this “missing money” piles up over the years. And it happens when funds like tax returns, investment income, and all kinds of assets are owed to people but go unclaimed.

These missing funds also means there's a chance you can get free money by searching for money that's owed to you. And this is where a tool called BeenVerified comes in handy.

BeenVerified's tool searches through Government databases and public records to find missing income and assets that could be in your name. And according to its data, about 1 in 7 people have some form of income that's owed to them.

What's nice is that BeenVerified has a $1 7-day trial, so it costs almost nothing to make sure you're not missing out on owed funds. Afterwards, it costs $29.99 per month. But if BeenVerified's tool can find you a potential payday, the cost is well worth it.

?? Search for missing money with BeenVerified!

9. Automate Saving Money

One simple trick to save extra money each month is to set up automatic deposits from your paycheck into a separate savings account.

Your bank likely has this option. And doing this ensures that you're always putting a bit of money aside. Even if it's $25 to $50 a paycheck, every little bit counts, so start building good habits.

Pro Tip:?Find the highest rates for savings accounts, money market accounts, and CDs with Raisin!

You don't pay any fees, and it only takes $1 to fund an account, and many Raisin partners are paying 5% APY or more!

???Boost your savings rate with Raisin!

10. Lower Your Insurance Rates

Like calling your phone or internet company, you can sometimes get cheaper rates on things like home and auto insurance if you call your provider or shop around.

Insurance is a competitive market, after all. So, get in the habit of looking for new deals or lower rates with your provider and competitors every year or so.

Pro Tip: You can use a free tool called Champion Auto Insurance?to quickly compare quotes from nationwide and local providers. People are saving $500+ per year on average. And it's completely free and just takes two minutes!

11. Start A Side Hustle

If you're living paycheck to paycheck and are struggling to make ends meet, starting a side hustle can help you save that extra bit of cash you need.

I've been side hustling for the last 5+ years. These hustles have always helped me save, and they're played a massive role in helping me grow my wealth.

Some popular hustles you can consider include:

My side hustle tier list video ranks even more hustles if you want to explore some options.

Personally, I've used writing and blogging at WebMonkey as my main hustles. And my blog made $272,000 in 2022, which just goes to show how a hustle can even grow into a full-time income.

12. Save Money On Energy Usage

Another easy way to save more money each month is to reduce your energy spending.

Simple tips like turning off the lights or tap when they're not in use is a great place to start. I also save money by using electricity-heavy appliances, like my washing machine, on off-peak hours.

And if you live in the United States, you can actually get paid to?not?use energy during peak times with various energy partners.

Save money on energy

Utility companies are willing to pay people to not use their energy when demand is too high. So, you can?use this link?to explore partners in your state that can pay you to save energy.

This is a nice way to essentially get paid for doing nothing. And you can also feel good that you're reducing strain on the energy grid.

13. Lower Your Internet & Phone Bills

Did you know you can often save more money just by calling your internet, phone, and cable provider and asking them for a deal?

I did this recently with my phone bill from Virgin. I've been a customer for more than five years, so I called them and said I was thinking of moving to a new company with lower rates. They dropped my monthly bill by $10 to match the competitor, no questions asked.

I suggest doing this every six to 12 months. You'd be amazed at the easy savings you'll find!

Pro Tip: You can find extremely cheap phone plans with Mint if you're currently looking to lower your phone bill.

14. Start Some Free Hobbies

Did you know that the average American household spends almost $3,000 a year on entertainment according to Value Penguin?

That's a lot of dough. And while I'm not against spending money on dining, seeing a movie, or an outing with friends, you don't always have to spend money to have fun.

For example, you can try free or cheap hobbies like:

  • Walking in a park or nearby trail
  • Going to the beach
  • Playing pick-up sports with friends
  • Biking or running
  • Having a picnic with friends
  • Playing an instruments
  • Getting books or movies from your public library
  • Learning new skills, like chess
  • Volunteering your time

Personally, I'm spending a lot more time hiking, walking, and in the gym these days. I feel a lot better, and my monthly gym membership is only $40, which is money well-spent.

15. Ditch Brand-Name Products

Ditching expensive brand-name products is another easy way to save more money each month.

This can include ditching designer clothing and shoes. But it can also mean buying more generic brands at the grocery store or pharmacy.

You can also consider buying non brand-name products in bulk to save even more. I do this at Costco or NoFrills sometimes, and I find it helps me save a bit of money in the long-run.

16. Try A No-Spend Challenge

A no-spend challenge is what it sounds like: a challenge where you can't spend?any?money for a certain amount of time.

Now, people have different versions and lengths of these challenges. For some, a no-spend challenge means absolutely no spending, whereas other people still allow spending on necessities like groceries. Some challenges also go for about a week, while others might go for 30 days.

Whatever the case, you can make a conscious decision to not spend money on non-essentials for a week or two. This helps you hold yourself accountable, and it makes saving money feel like more of a game than a chore.

17. Learn To Cook

Eating out is a massive drain on a monthly budget, especially if it's a daily habit. And besides, learning how to cook nutritious, affordable meals isn't rocket science.

When I was in college, one of the best money-saving hacks I used was to reduce my grocery and food bill and to always cook at home. But I still made nutrient-rich meals that hit the macros I was looking for.

If you want a helping hand with getting started, you can read this Food Network article that has 10 healthy dinner ideas that all cost about $10.

18. Start A Garden

An often overlooked but easy way to cut down on expenses is to start your own garden.

Now, you don't have to go insane here or to even have a large backyard that you completely fill with fruit and vegetable plots: even a modest in-house garden or small backyard plot will do the trick.

Starting a small herb garden or vegetable garden is an easy way to cut down on your grocery bill and to eat a little healthier. Plus, this is a fun and simple hobby to start out, so you might as well give it a try.

Some of my friends grew vegetables throughout school to save money in college, and it's cheaper to get started than you'd think. Seeds are cheap, and some bags of soil and cheap plant pots will quickly recoup their cost in grocery savings.

Final Thoughts

I hope this guide on how to save more money each month helps you cut down on expenses and keep more money in your wallet.

Personally, I use hacks like reward apps, credit card rewards, and side hustle stacking to find some quick wins. And I stick to a monthly budget and automate a lot of my savings so I stay on track.

You can use some of these tips and other information online to build a money-saving plan that works for you. Speaking to a financial advisor if you have specific questions can also be an excellent idea.

In any case, thanks for reading, and best of luck in your quest to save more money!

Ibotta is one of the leading reward apps out there. However, it's not always the best for online shoppers or for different in-person purchases. And that's why using other apps like Ibotta can be useful to stack and maximize earnings.

I've tested and used these Ibotta alternatives in the past, and many of them still have a place on my smartphone to help me save more money each month. Today, I'm sharing some of the best ones with you to help you save.

The Best Apps Like Ibotta

1. Fetch

Fetch is a personal favorite of mine, and it's the most popular app for gift cards you can use to earn rewards by uploading shopping receipts.

The main difference between Fetch Rewards and Ibotta is that you don't have to pre-select offers on Fetch. As long as you upload a receipt with?any?products from?any?partner brand, you earn points.

Fetch-Rewards-app

I use Fetch Rewards to save money every time I shop. And I love that it’s not necessary to select offers before shopping to earn since this saves valuable time.

Plus, you only need 3,000 points to redeem various free gift cards. Some gift card options include companies like:

Some gift cards require more points, but Fetch's $3 cash out minimum is much better than Ibotta's $20 redemption minimum if you ask me.

Apps like Fetch Rewards don't pay as much per offer as Ibotta, which is the main downside. But it's much easier to earn with this app and is a good Ibotta alternative if you want a more passive app.

Download Fetch today!

2. Capital One Shopping

Another popular Ibotta alternative you can use when shopping online is Capital One Shopping.

This free extension automatically applies available coupon codes when you shop online. It works with 30,000+ retailers, and everything happens automatically when you're checking out to help you save more money.

Capital-One-Shopping-Save-Money

I also like Capital One Shopping since it has a useful price comparison tool to help you save on big purchases. Apps like Ibotta are definitely superior for groceries and in-store shopping. But Capital One Shopping wins when it comes to online coupons.

Try out Capital One Shopping or read our official Capital One Shopping review.

Note: Capital One Shopping compensates us when you sign up with the provided links.

3. Bridge Money

If you want to earn passive income while you shop, then Bridge Money is for you.

This new rewards app pays you with small amounts of points whenever you shop with a linked card. You can then cash out those points for PayPal payments, so you're earning real cash.

Bridge Money app review

Bridge Money is an easy way to get paid for your data. And if you prefer passive options to Ibotta's manual selection process, it definitely belongs on your smartphone.

Start earning with Bridge Money!

4. Upside

While many of the apps like Ibotta on this list are focused on groceries, Upside is an excellent app to use to save fuel whenever you fill up.

This app pays you with cash back on gas at thousands of partner gas stations across the United States. My family uses this app regularly to save at the gas pump, and the savings add up quickly.

Upside App

Upside works similarly to Ibotta in that you claim gas station offers, upload receipts, and then earn cash back. And the app can pay up to $0.25 per gallon or even more.

My husband uses Upside regularly and has been averaging between $50 and $100 a month in free giftcards. As someone who drives for a living, he fills up his work vehicle almost daily. This helps him not only earn rewards, but also to find the best deals on fuel in our area.

The cash out minimum on Upside does depend on your reward. For gift cards and bank transfers, you need a $10 minimum balance. PayPal requires a $15 minimum balance.

Download Upside today!

5. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a leading get-paid-to website that Tom and I have both used for years.

The platform has numerous ways to earn, including paid surveys, shopping offers, watching ads, and playing games. But it also has a new Magic receipts section that has some pretty high-paying cash back offers.

Magic-Receipt-offer
A Swagbucks Magic Receipt offer.

This feature works similarly to Ibotta lets you you earn rewards for submitting receipts.

Some offers pay $5 or even more, like the OxiClean offer I found and posted in the image above. You can also find cash-back offers on everyday essentials, groceries, and home goods that are similar to Ibotta.

Plus, Swagbucks has various gift card rewards starting at just $1. PayPal money is also available at $5, and new members can also get a $10 sign up bonus by completing a few steps.

Swagbucks' sister websites, InboxDollars and MyPoints, also have cash back offers that are similar to apps like Ibotta. So, you can check out all these platforms and cherry-pick the best ones.

Start earning with Swagbucks!

6. Shopkick

Shopkick pays you with kicks, the in-app point system, for buying products like with Ibotta. But you can also earn by walking into stores, shopping online, scanning barcodes, and watching videos.

Shopkick Cash Back App

Ibotta pays more than Shopkick for shopping offers, but the fact Shopkick pays you to walk and explore your city and different stores is unique.

I have found that with apps like Shopkick, promotions tend to appear and disappear quickly. So, one Shopkick hack I would give when using this app is to be sure to submit your receipts ASAP after making your purchase.

Shopkick offers a wide variety of rewards including Target, Walmart, PayPal cash, and more. You can cash out on Shopkick once you have a minimum of $500 points, which equals $2, so it also pays much faster than Ibotta.

Try out Shopkick today!

Pro Tip: Use my code ‘TOW' and get a nice $5 sign up bonus after earning your first kicks!

7. Rakuten

If you do most of your shopping online, then Rakuten is one of the best Ibotta competitors you can use.

This shopping extension pays you for shopping at thousands of retailers. All you have to do is download the extension and then you automaticall earn when shopping at eligible partners.

total-Rakuten-earnings
My total Rakuten earnings.

Ibotta also has a shopping extension to let you save money online. But Rakuten has higher cash-back rates and way more partners. Tom has also been using Rakuten for years and has earned $1,200+ in cash back.

Plus, Rakuten has a nice sign up bonus of $30 when you?sign up with our link and spend $30 on a qualifying shopping offer.

Our post on Ibotta vs Rakuten also compares these two platforms in more detail if you're curious. And you can also check out Coupert, another useful extension, for even more savings.

8. Checkout 51

Similar to Ibotta, Checkout 51 lets shoppers claim promotional offers on their favorite products, submit a receipt, and receive cash back payments.

With a rotating list of promotional offers that updates on Thursday mornings, Checkout 51 has plenty of ways to save. And the app is particularly useful for earning cash back on staples like bread, milk, fruit, and other essentials.

Checkout-51

Checkout 51 is also available in the United States and Canada, whereas Ibotta is only available in the United States.

Both apps also has a $20 cash out minimum, but Ibotta has gift cards and cash rewards whereas Checkout 51 just pays via check and PayPal.

???The Top Money Earning Apps Without Investment.

9. NCP Mobile

NCP Mobile is a division of the Nielsen TV rating company and rewards shoppers for sharing information about the various items they purchase.

NCP Mobile App

After you download the app, you scan the different items you purchase, which helps the research group track product purchase data. You earn points for scanning products and answering short surveys that you can redeem for gift cards, appliances, electronics, and even cash.

Free gift cards from NCP Mobile start at about 5000 – 6000 points, which can take around 20 to 40 scans to reach. High-value merchandise rewards can require tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of points.

Apps like Ibotta are better for pre-selecting rebates and earning steadier cash. But NCP Mobile could be better if you don't want to change your shopping habits too much.

Download NCP Mobile!

10. Dosh

If you like passive income apps, then Dosh is one of the best apps like Ibotta out there.

With Dosh, you automatically earn cash back when you shop at a partner merchant with a link card. So, you never have to scan receipts or select offers before shoppig like you do with Ibotta.

Dosh-app

This?does?require linking your card to the app. But Dosh works with many major brands like:

  • Adidas
  • Costco
  • Disney
  • Gopuff
  • Lyft
  • Sam's Club

Rewards deposit in your Dosh Wallet. When you reach a $25 balance in your wallet, you can cash out for PayPal money or a direct deposit to your bank account.

Dosh pays much less than Ibotta, but again, it basically makes money on autopilot when you shop since it takes zero effort.

11. Shopmium (Coupons.com)

If you’re an old school couponer like me, you probably rely on printable coupons to save money each month.

But if you want a more modern take on the coupon world, you can try Shopmium, which recently absorbed the well-known Coupons.com.

Shopmium

Now more a rebate app rather than a coupon app, you can select offers and scan your receipts to receive cash back. Want to make things even easier? Link your store loyalty card to automatically get cash back to your account each time you purchase.

The good news is that there is no minimum payout to cash out your Shopmium account. Every time you earn rewards they will be sent directly to your PayPal account. Payment usually takes about 48 hours.

???The Best Side Hustles For Women.

12. Receipt Hog

Another popular app like Ibotta that pays you for uploading shopping receipts is?Receipt Hog.

While many cash back apps on this list focus on grocery items, Receipt Hog accepts receipts from a variety of retailers including stores, restaurants, and pretty much anywhere you shop.

Receipt-hog-app

As you use Receipt Hog more often, you can qualify for more ways to get free Receipt Hog points including surveys and contests.

After you have accumulated 1,000 coins on this app, you can redeem them for a Mastercard or Visa e-gift card, free PayPal cash, or an Amazon gift card.

Ibotta pays way more per receipt than Receipt Hog. But the advantage of Receipt Hog is that almost any receipt earns points, and you don't have to pre-select offers.

13. Drop

Another popular app that pays you to shop at your favorite retailers like Ibotta is Drop.

This U.S. and Canadian shopping app pays you with points for shopping at hundreds of brand partners. You can then cash out for various gift cards starting at $20 to $25.

Drop reward app

In addition to earning rewards for shopping through drop, you can also make money playing games, referring friends, and taking surveys.

This makes Drop much more versatile than Ibotta, although it doesn't have grocery offers and focuses on categories like electronics, apparel, and entertainment. You also have to link your card to the app to use it.

Start earning with Drop!

14. ReceiptPal

Like Receipt Hog, ReceiptPal is another app like Ibotta that pays you for uploading almost any shopping receipt.

The app is also unique in that receipts you upload help you complete scratch cards. When you turn-in a card, you earn points that you can redeem for gift cards, and you can make about $1.25 per week with this app if you upload enough receipts.

ReceiptPal

This isn't a high-paying app like Ibotta. But it's easy to add ReceiptPal into your routine if you're already using several receipt scanning apps to earn free money.

As for rewards, it takes $5 to cash out, and you can redeem a wide variety of gift cards. And we also recommend stacking this app with ReceiptJar, another similar app.

15. Amazon Shopper Panel

If you want to earn free Amazon gift cards, the Amazon Shopper Panel is one of the best apps like Ibotta out there.

This U.S. rewards app pays you with $10 Amazon gift cards if you upload 10 non-Amazon receipts to the app every month. This is over $100 per year in free gift cards, and you can earn even more if you complete short surveys.

Shopper-Panel-Amazon-Rewards

The downside to this app is that you have to join a waiting list, so it can take a few months to get in. So, I'd use apps like Ibotta until you eventually get accepted.

???The Best Secret Websites To Make Money.

16. DollarSprout Rewards

One final Ibotta competitor you can use is DollarSprout Rewards.

This shopping rewards platform is similar to Ibotta's extension and Rakuten. It pays you with cash back when you shop at 15,000+?of retail partners.

DollarSprout rewards

Cash back you earn deposits in your account, and you can cash out via PayPal after earning $5. And I like that the extension notifies you when there's an eligible cash-back opportunity and then pays you automatically.

For online shopping, this is definitely a better alternative to Ibotta. But again, Ibotta reigns supreme for things like groceries and everyday essentials.

Try out DollarSprout Rewards!

Tips For Getting Started

Now that you know some of the best apps like Ibotta, I want to share a few useful tips that can help you maximize your savings each month:

  1. Check For Offers Regularly: Apps like Ibotta usually publish cash back offers daily or weekly, so check your apps regularly and claim offers before they're gone.
  2. Make A Shopping List: You should still shop with a physical or virtual shopping list so you don't overspend on products you don't need.
  3. Stack Other Saving Methods: Using tactics like cash-back credit cards, paper coupons, in-store flyers, loyalty programs, and price matching is still an excellent way to save money while using reward apps.

Tom also made a YouTube video sharing some nifty ways to get free gift cards that you can use to save even more.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for new apps like Ibotta, the good news is that there are lots to choose from. Money saving apps are readily available and easy to use. With only a few clicks and snapping a picture of a receipt, you can earn cash back on nearly every purchase.

The even better news is that many of these apps can be used in combination to save even more! You can “stack” the savings from Ibotta with Fetch Rewards, Shopkick, and other apps to maximize your savings. This can help you get items for free – or even turn them into money makers where you get paid to shop.

If you’re new to cash back apps, my advice is to start with one, and then add additional ones slowly. This gives you the opportunity to get familiar with the process and to start saving money gradually. Once you get started though, you won’t want to stop!

It's easy to think of receipts as just being annoying pieces of paper you get after shopping. And for years, I was the kind of person who would just crumple up my shopping receipts and chuck them in the bin.

But, did you know it's possible to get paid for your receipts? That's right: by using various reward apps, you can actually scan receipts for money to earn some free cash and gift cards.

12 Best Apps To Scan Receipts For Money

1. Fetch

Fetch is a popular grocery rewards app in the United States. It pays you to shop and then upload a picture of your receipt, just like most of these apps do.

Fetch-Rewards-app

However, what makes Fetch unique is that it pays you as long as?any?product from?any?partner brand appears on your receipt. In contrast, most receipt scanning apps require buying specific products.

Points you earn from receipts are redeemable for free gift cards to companies like Amazon, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target, and Walmart. And I like using Fetch since you only need $3 to cash out, which is possible in a week or two of scanning receipts.

You can also earn bonus points by completing sponsored offers. And Fetch has various contests and referral bonuses going on all the time to help you earn more.

Start earning with Fetch!

2. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is another platform you can use to make money scanning receipts. In fact, its new Magic receipts tool pays you to upload receipts with purchases like groceries, cleaning products, and everyday essentials.

Swagbucks sign up

Swagbucks also offers plenty of other ways to make money, including:

I've used Swagbucks since I was in school to earn rewards. In this time, I've cashed out dozens of times, and I like that many gift card rewards only take $1 to redeem.

Its receipt offers don't always pay as much as Fetch or Upside in my experience. But I like how versatile Swagbucks is and how easy it is to cash out with.

3. Bridge Money

I want to mention Bridge Money in this post because it's similar to other scan receipts for money apps but is way more passive.

That's because with Bridge Money, you earn rewards?automatically?whenever you shop with a linked card.

That's right: this app makes money on autopilot and pays you for sharing your shopping data. So there's no need to take photos of receipts to earn.

You get to cash out right to PayPal too so it's real cash. And I think this is a great app to use alongside the receipt-based ones.

Try out Bridge Money!

4. Upside

Do you cringe every time you refill your car and see the price of gas? If the answer is yes, then Upside is the app for you.

This app pays you to shop at thousands of participating gas stations in the United States. You just have to pre-select gas offers, refuel, and then scan your receipt with your phone to earn.

Upside App

Upside can save you up to $0.25 per gallon, which can really add up on large tanks. And it lets you redeem earnings for gift cards and PayPal money once you earn $10.

Upside also has offers from convenience stores and gas station stores, which can be handy if you regularly buy snacks. But it's by far my favorite way to save money on gas.

Start saving with Upside!

5. InboxDollars

InboxDollars is another U.S. rewards website that's similar to Swagbucks.

It's free to sign up for and is open to anyone who's 18 or older. As a member, you can make money with tasks like cash surveys, playing games, watching videos, shopping online, and more.

InboxDollars

InboxDollars also has a new receipts rewards section that pays you to upload photos of your receipts. It doesn't pay as much as Swagbucks or the other apps on this list, but if you're scanning receipts, you might as well use a few platforms to maximize earnings.

Plus, new members get a $5 sign up bonus to sweeten the deal. You can cash out to PayPal or with dozens of gift cards after you earn $15 for your first cash out and $10 on future cash outs.

Get $5 from InboxDollars!

6. Shopkick

Shopkick is another popular rewards app that I've used in the past when I lived in the United States. And it's one of the more versatile apps on this list since it has so many ways to earn.

For starters, Shopkick has a lot of mystery-shopping gigs that pay you to take photos of products, scan receipts, and even walk into stores.

Shopkick app

You can also earn by shopping with a linked card, watching videos, and by purchasing certain products. You then cash out for PayPal money or gift cards once you earn $2 worth of kicks, the platform's point system.

My post on the best Shopkick hacks has a few tips for how to earn as much as possible with this app. You can also read my post on the best apps like Shopkick for even more ideas.

Try out Shopkick today! – Sign up with the code ‘TOW' and get a $5 bonus when you earn your first kicks!

7. P&G Good Everyday

If you live in the United States, the P&G Good Everyday program is a must-join program.

This loyalty program lets you earn free gift cards for buying products from 60+ popular Procter & Gamble brands. You also get exclusive deals and coupons and can even donate to a charity of your choice with each act of good you complete.

P&G Good Everyday Rewards

P&G owns massive brands like Crest, Dove, Gillette, and Tide. So this program is an excellent way to save more on everyday essentials and cleaning and beauty products.

Try out P&G Good Everyday!

8. Receipt Hog

Receipt Hog is another popular way to make money scanning receipts. And what makes this app unique is the fact that almost any receipt you upload is worth something.

That said, Receipt Hog receipts generally pay just a few pennies worth of coins. So, I like to add it in as a backup app but focus on using apps like Ibotta or Fetch. You can also add in ReceiptPal, an app that's very similar to Receipt Hog, to earn even more.

You can redeem your earnings for PayPal money or Amazon gift cards once you earn $10.

9. Amazon Shopper Panel

If you live in the United States, the Amazon Shopper Panel is one of the best apps that you can use.

This app pays you $10 per month if you upload at least 10 receipts to the app. And you get paid with Amazon gift cards right to your account balance.

Earning $1 per receipt you scan makes this one of the highest-paying apps in this space. The only downside is the Amazon Shopper Panel has a waitlist, so it takes a while to get on the app. Also note that almost any receipt works with this app except for receipts from Amazon and Whole Foods.

10. National Consumer Panel

National Consumer Panel, also known as the NCP app, pays you for buying products and then uploading information about them.

It's a popular way to scan barcodes for money, and its app actually has a built-in scanner where you scan products you buy and get paid for doing so. You can also upload receipts to earn.

It generally takes about 40 to 50 scans to earn $10, which isn't too bad. You can cash out with a variety of rewards, including free electronics, sweepstake entries for cash prizes, and various free gift cards.

11. Ibotta

Ibotta is a leading rewards app that's probably the closest alternative to Fetch.

This U.S. app pays you to shop for sponsored products from thousands of partners. Once you have your receipt, you just take a picture of it with your phone and submit it via Ibotta's app to earn.

Ibotta-groceries

I like using apps like Ibotta for big shopping trips since I find it usually has the highest-paying offers. The only downside is that you need to buy specific products, so being flexible is important.

Ibotta also lets you earn from online purchases with its shopping extension, which is pretty unique. And it also pays you referral bonuses if you invite your friends to join. For rewards, you can cash out to PayPal or with different gift cards when you earn $20.

Sign up for Ibotta!

12. Checkout 51

One final way to earn money by scanning receipts you can use is to use Checkout 51.

This app is available in Canada and the United States and is very similar to Ibotta. You preselect offers you plan on buying, go shopping, and then take a picture of your receipt with the app to get paid.

In my experience, Checkout 51 has a lot of high-paying offers for things like medicine and cleaning products. But I like that the app still pays you for buying basics like groceries.

Checkout 51 is also rolling out gas rewards, although I think Upside is better in this department. And the main downside of Checkout 51 is that you get paid via check once you earn $20, which can take a while.

Other Options To Make Money With Your Receipts

The apps I just covered are some of the most popular apps in this side hustle category. However, there are plenty of other apps and tricks you can use to get paid on your next shopping trip. And a lot of these apps are passive income apps, so they require less work:

  1. Pogo: A new U.S. app that pays you with passive income when you shop with a linked card.
  2. Rakuten: My favorite way to earn cash back at thousands of retailers when shopping online.
  3. ReceiptJar: This app is available in North America and Australia and pays you for almost every receipt.
  4. Dosh: Yet another passive earner that pays you as long as you shop with a linked bank card.
  5. Coupons.com: An easy way to find coupons to save on upcoming purchases.
  6. TopCashBack: A similar cashback website to Rakuten.
  7. CoinOut: This receipt scanning app pays you for any receipt and lets you cash out quickly.
  8. Drop: One of the most popular shopping rewards app in North America.
  9. Caddle: A Canadian app that's similar to Ibotta.
  10. Ampli: A passive app like Dosh that's available in Canada.

How Much Money Can You Make?

In my experience, making $5 to $20 a month with receipt scanning apps is realistic. You can earn even more if you shop often and put in effort to buy sponsored offers. If you don't shop too often, you won't make very much.

I also think it's important to stick to a shopping list and budget, even with these apps. And if you want to earn passively and don't have time to scan receipts, stick with some of the passive options like?Pogo?and?Bridge Money.

Final Thoughts

After testing out dozens of reward apps over the years, I'm still amazed at how easy it is to get paid for your data.

The bottom line is companies want to know where consumers spend their time and attention. And apps that pay you to scan receipts are a prime example of this.

So, if you want a fun phone side hustle and don't mind a bit of work, give a few of these apps a try! Even making $10 to $20 a month adds up, and it's free money at the end of the day.

ReceiptJar is a leading receipt scanning app that lets you earn cash and free gift cards for taking photos of your shopping receipts.

It's a fun way to turn your next shopping trip into extra cash. But how much does this app pay? And is it worth the download?

I downloaded the app to test it out. And my ReceiptJar review is covering how it works, its earning potential, and what some other good apps are that you can use.

Want more ways to save? Checkout:

  • Rocket Money: Cancel unused subscriptions and create a budget that actually works for you!
  • Auto Insurance Saver: Save upwards of $600+ per year on car insurance with this nifty tool.

Is ReceiptJar Legit?

ReceiptJar is legit and lets you earn rewards by taking photos of your receipts. The app has a 4.7 star rating on the Apple App Store and 4.5 star rating on the Google Play Store with thousands of positive reviews.

This app is a fun way to save more money. And if you've used apps like Fetch and Ibotta, ReceiptJar is an excellent fit.

This app is certainly less popular than some of the major reward apps out there. However, it offers competitive rates and a wide variety of rewards, making it a great app for any frugal shopper.

What Is Receipt Jar & How Does It Work?

You can download ReceiptJar for free on the Google or Apple app store. From there, you create an account with your email or Facebook account.

After that, all you need to do is take photos of your receipts to earn points. ReceiptJar pays you with points for each receipt, and you can then cash out your points for free gift cards and PayPal cash.

Receipts have to include the date, store name, and total amount you spent. You have to ensure you take photos in decent lighting so information on your receipt is visible. And for long receipts, you have to take multiple photos. However, the entire process is super simple.

ReceiptJar also lets you sync your account with various food delivery apps and online accounts. This includes popular retailers like:

Digital receipts automatically credit to your ReceiptJar account once you make a purchase, so you don't have to do anything!

How Much Does ReceiptJar Pay Per Receipt?

ReceiptJar pays different amounts of points depending on the shopping total on your receipt. More expensive bills pay more points than less expensive receipts. Here is how the point system works:

  • 5 points for $10 and under
  • 10 points for $11 to $50
  • 15 points for $51 to $100
  • 20 points for purchases over $100

This is a similar system to what apps like Receipt Hog and ReceiptPal use. In other words, you just get paid for uploading shopping receipts and it doesn't really matter if you buy specific products.

In contrast, apps like Fetch and Rakuten require you to shop from certain brands or to buy specific products. So, ReceiptJar is much simpler to use.

Just note that receipts cant be older than 7 days. Once you earn 120 points per week or upload 20 receipts, every receipt after that is only worth 5 points. We find this cap to be fairly limiting. But it's still a fun way to make money while shopping that doesn't take much effort.

Other Ways To Earn With ReceiptJar

ReceiptJar also lets you earn points by answering online surveys. However, this isn't a dedicated survey app, so the surveys are going to be few and far between.

Being consistent with using the app also helps you earn more points. If you upload every week, you get to fill up three blue jars, which grants you access to a fourth “gold jar.” Every time you reach this gold jar milestone, the reward increases. Eventually, your gold jar can be worth 490 points. It will take 30 months, but once you’ve reached that level you’re essentially looking at an additional 6,000 points per year.

ReceiptJar also lets you earn more by completing “missions” within the app for filling out your account and knowledge of the app. For instance, you get 100 points for every online retailer you synch up with Receipt Jar. If you shop at all 8 online retailers they integrate with, plus your email, that’s 900 points right there…90% of the way to $5.

There is also a periodic prize draw. When we signed up, Receipt Jar was running a weekly prize drawing for a few weeks, where you need to follow the Instagram Page for a shot at winning 10,000 points ($50).

Last but not least, there is the ReceiptJar referral code. You can get 200 points for every signup. All it takes is 5 signups and you’ve earned $5, which isn't too bad.

?? The Best Free Apps Paying Real Money Instantly.

Cashing Out & Rewards

ReceiptJar lets you cash out with free PayPal money, Visa gift cards, and various gift cards once you earn 1,000 points. Rewards start at $5, which is fairly low in the world of reward apps.

Some of the gift cards you can redeem include ones to retailers like:

  • Amazon
  • Applebees
  • Athleta
  • Barnes & Noble
  • Bath & Body Works
  • Crate & Barrel
  • CVS
  • Domino’s
  • Krispy Kreme
  • Lowe’s
  • Macy’s
  • Olive Garden
  • Petco
  • Starbucks
  • Swarovski
  • Walmart

What Stores Work With ReceiptJar?

ReceiptJar accepts receipts from stores in the United States, Canada, and Australia. However, receipts with $0 in purchases, like bank receipts or ATM withdrawals, don't qualify. Handwritten receipts aren't accepted either. The same goes for service receipts like bus tickets are not accepted.

You can't submit return receipts either. So, in short, ReceiptJar only accepts receipts from stores where you've made a final purchase.

How Much Are ReceiptJar Points Worth?

ReceiptJar rewards start at $5 for 1,000 points, which means one point equals $0.0005. However, you get small redemption discounts if you save up for larger rewards. Here's how the tiers work:

  • 1,000 points for $5
  • 1,900 points for $10
  • 2,900 points for $15
  • 3,900 points for $20
  • 9,500 points for $50
  • 19,000 points for $100

If you have some patience, saving up for a larger reward makes your points go a bit further.

That said, if you do some quick math, it's clear this isn't the highest paying app out there. Even if you upload 200 points a week uploading receipts, at this rate, it'll take you two years to get $100 in rewards.

This isn't bad when you consider it's free money just for selling your data via receipt photos. And you can stack it with other reward apps. But don't expect to get rich by using ReceiptJar.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Works with almost any store
  • Wide variety of rewards
  • Low $5 cash out requirement
  • You can also earn from electronic receipts

Cons:

  • ReceiptJar is only available in three countries
  • There are weekly point limits
  • Low earning potential

The Best Apps Like ReceiptJar

I think ReceiptJar is a great way to earn money when shopping and to make your budget go a bit further. But it's far from your only option.

Some other excellent reward apps I suggest trying include:

Venmo 10 sign up bonus

If you use a few of these apps, you should be able to keep more money in your wallet quite consistently. And these apps cover both in-store and online purchases.

Is ReceiptJar Safe?

Receipt Jar is safe and doesn't sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. You can bet your bottom dollar, however, that they’re selling your purchasing habits to the stores you shop at and the brands you buy. However, there’s nothing unsafe about that.

Moreover, the data is also de-identified to keep thins anonymous. So, Kroger has no idea that you are the one who bought pineapple slices with the homemade pizza kit.

The email and store account integrations are also safe, encrypted, and endorsed by those same email service providers and retailers.

What Are Some ReceiptJar Referral Codes I Can Use?

ReceiptJar referral codes give you 200 points for free. And you can use my referral code TOMBTC63 when you sign up to earn this bonus.

This isn't the best sign up bonus out there. But it's a nice way to hit the ground running so you cash out much faster.

Extra Reading: The Best $25 Sign Up Bonuses.

Is There Customer Support?

There is indeed customer support through the app or website. Support is chatbot-based, but some questions can be escalated to email.

Final Thoughts

After testing out this app, I think ReceiptJar is a fun way to save a bit more money each month. And it's a great addition to your phone if you already use apps like Fetch or Ibotta. However, it takes a while to cash out, so don't expect more than $10 to $50 a year from this app.

That said, it's completely free to use. And if you stack it with a few other money-making apps, you could be looking at hundreds or even thousands of dollars in savings per year.

Hopefully, our ReceiptJar review helps you decide if this app is right for you.

If you are an Amazon fanatic, you are going to love the Camelizer browser extension.

The Camelizer is a shopping extension for Google Chrome and Firefox that's from CamelCamelCamel, a price tracking website for Amazon.

camelizer-browser-extension

While the Camelizer doesn’t automatically save users money, this is still one of the best extensions for anyone who enjoys shopping on Amazon. If you find a product that is at peak pricing with the Camelizer, chances are, you can nab it at a lower price a few weeks later.

13. Cently (Coupons At Checkout)

Cently is a money saving coupon extension that was formerly known as Coupons at Checkout.

Cently automatically notifies users of available coupon codes before check out, which makes this extension incredibly similar to the Honey browser extension. From some reviews I’ve read, people like Cently because it is less intrusive and promo-codes are also automatically applied.

Cently-extension

However, some users seem to prefer Honey vs Cently because it finds them discounts more frequently. Whatever the case, you could theoretically use both shopping extensions for a trial period to see which one saves you the most money!

14. PriceBlink

If you install the PriceBlink browser extension, when you shop online, you'll actually be comparing the same item on hundreds of other merchants to see if you can find the same product at a lower price.

Additionally, PriceBlink also checks for existing coupons from the merchant you are shopping from, making it a powerful money saving extension that serves multiple purposes.

PriceBlink is available on Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

How Do Shopping Extensions Work?

There are generally three ways to save money with a shopping extension:

  • Coupon Extensions: These extensions apply coupon and promo codes at checkout so you can get certain discounts.
  • Cash-Back Extensions: These extensions let you earn cash-back rewards for buying products from specific retailers.
  • Price Comparison Extensions: These extensions compare prices between retailers/sellers or look at historical prices to ensure you're buying at the right place and time.

The very best cash back and coupon shopping extensions often offer several of these features. But, depending on your shopping habits and how expensive the product you want to buy is, different extensions might be better than others.

What's The Best Coupon Chrome Extension?

In my opinion, Capital One Shopping is the best coupon extension for Chrome.

The reason for this is that Capital One Shopping automatically applies coupon codes?and?lets you earn free gift cards, so it's the best of both worlds. The price comparison tool is also nifty, so this is one of the more comprehensive extensions out there.

The only downside is that it's only available in the United States, so if you're an international shopper, use Honey instead!

What's The Best Cashback Extension?

In my opinion, Rakuten is the best extension for earning cash back, and there's no competition.

Rakuten pays?real?cash and has more partners than other extensions. The fact you can also earn PayPal cash is great because you don't have to wait for a check in the mail. I've earned over $7,000 in cash back from using Rakuten, so it definitely has my seal of approval!

What's The Best Price Comparison Extension?

I think Honey's Amazon Best Seller tool is one of the best options if you're trying to compare prices between Amazon sellers. You can also use PriceBlink to compare prices automatically.

Why Don't My Rewards Or Coupons Always Work?

There are a few reasons cash back extensions sometimes don't work and look like they don't pay users. Two common reasons for this are:

  • Forgot To Activate: If you forget to turn an extension on or visit the website in question before shopping, you won't get credited for your purchase. This is a common problem with Rakuten, so make sure you remember to turn the extension on before shopping!
  • Extension Conflicts: Sometimes, having multiple extensions active at once can cause issues. My advice is to try several extensions, but only have one active at a time when you're actually shopping.

Final Thoughts

I hope this list of shopping browser extensions can help get you started with saving more money whenever you shop.

The bottom line is that there are so many reward apps or passive income apps you can use to save money these days. And shopping extensions are one of the most useful options for frequent online shoppers.

Just make sure you only have one extension active at a time when shopping. Using multiple extensions at once can sometimes cause conflicts and prevent you from getting paid, so don't forget!

Coupert is a legit coupon and cash back shopping extension that helps its users save more money. And it also has an exciting earnings platform where you make money by downloading apps and answering surveys.

It's a versatile platform that also has 8+ million members. But is it worth downloading?

Our Coupert review is sharing how this nifty extension works, its savings potential, and if it's safe to use and worth trying out.

Looking for more money-making methods? Checkout:

  • Freecash: Download apps and play fun games to earn free cash!
  • EarnIn: Borrow up to $750 against an upcoming paycheck without paying membership fees!

Key Takeaways:

  • Coupert is a free extension that can help you save money when shopping online
  • It's available for Chrome, Firefox, Mac, and Microsoft Edge
  • It lets you save with coupon codes and earn with cash-back offers
  • Users can also save with Amazon deals
  • Coupert also lets you complete cash offers and paid surveys
  • You redeem your earnings for PayPal cash

What Is Coupert & How Does It Work?

Coupert is a free shopping and cash-back extension that can help you save money and time when you shop online.

The extension is free to download and is available for Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. And you can sign up for free with your email or Gmail account to get started.

From there, Coupert's extension automatically applies available coupon codes when you shop at over 200,000 retailers. This is similar to extensions like Capital One Shopping and Honey, and it's an amazing way to save money upfront.

But Coupert also lets you earn cash back at thousands of stores too. And you can often find deals paying 1% to 10% cash back, or even more, across dozens of product categories.

To sweeten the deal, Coupert also helps you find deals on Amazon. When you shop, it compares prices between sellers with similar products to help you find the lowest prices. It even factors in shipping costs too.

If you’re an Amazon shopper, Coupert can help you find the best deal there as well. They will research the items you’re looking for and compare sellers for you. This can help you find the best price even when you consider shipping costs.

Overall, this extension is a blend between coupon extensions like Capital One Shopping and cash-back platforms like Rakuten and TopCashback. And the company says its 6 million members save $180 per year with coupons and earn $86 in cash back on average.

Coupert Cash Offers & Surveys

One thing I love about Coupert is that it also has plenty of cash offers that pay you for completing different tasks.

This is similar to get-paid-to sites like Freecash and Swagbucks. For example, some of ways Coupert lets you earn include:

  • Downloading new apps
  • Playing games for money
  • Answering surveys
  • Referring your friends to join Coupert (you earn 10% commissions on their earnings)
  • Completing a daily to-do list
  • Scanning receipts from your grocery shopping trips

Many cash surveys pay $0.50 to $3 worth of cash back. And some of the gaming and download offers pay $10 to $50 or even more, so there's lots of money up for grabs.

Coupert also pays you with bonuses for logging in everyday and for completing a daily to-do list, which consists of various money-making offers.

Just note that some offers pay you with Coupert Gold rather than cash back. You can convert your gold into cash at a 1:1 ratio. But you need an equivalent amount of confirmed cash back to convert Gold. For example, if you have $5 in confirmed cash back, you can convert 500 Gold into an additional $5.

Overall, Coupert is more versatile than most reward apps out there. And it adds new offers all the time to keep things interesting.

Cashing Out With Coupert – How You Redeem Cashback & Earnings

Coupert lets you cash out for free PayPal cash and various gift card rewards. New users can cash out at just $2 for their first time. Subsequent withdrawals require $10 to cash out.

In the United States, members can also withdraw to a Visa or Mastercard with only $1. Just note that this withdrawal method has a 2% + $0.50 processing fee. PayPal withdrawals also have a 2% handling fee.

I like that Coupert lets you redeem real money and not just gift cards. And the limited-time $2 withdrawal for new members means Coupert pays you faster than something like Rakuten or Honey.

Is Coupert Safe?

Coupert is safe and doesn't require entering your credit card details or sensitive information to save money. Additionally, it's highly-rated on the Google Chrome store, with over 3 million users and a 4.7 star average rating.

Coupert also says that it doesn't sell your data to third parties outside of approved use cases. However, the extension collects data about the sites you visit and where you shop. If you are uncomfortable sharing this data, you won’t want to use Coupert to save money.

Is Coupert Legit?

Coupert is legit and has over 8 million users worldwide. It also has an excellent 4.8 star rating on Trustpilot and thousands of positive reviews from people who say Coupert helps them save money.

Most negative Coupert reviews come from people who have issues with cash back crediting. But you can always contact Coupert if you have an issue and you'll usually get credited. Overall, most users seem happy and confirm this extension helps you save when shopping online.

  • Walmart
  • Western Union

New stores get added all the time too. And Coupert works in the United States, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Brazil, and several other countries.

Is Coupert Plus Worth It?

Coupert Plus offers additional cash-back bonuses, zero withdrawal fees, and boosted rewards per month. It costs $5 per month or $60 for 13 months and could be worth it if you regularly shop online and can earn enough cash back to offset its cost.

Here are the main perks you get from Coupert Plus:

  • Additional cash back on their first order
  • Higher percentage of cash back
  • A subsidy for missing cash back
  • Shipping rebates and return shipping rebates
  • And no withdrawal fees when withdrawing your cash back

As a veteran of money saving apps, I’d recommend starting with the free Coupert plan. If it works well for you, it could be worth upgrading.

If you upgrade, start with the monthly plan first and if the additional savings are beneficial, upgrade to annual Coupert Plus to earn even more rewards.

The shipping rebates could also make the paid Coupert plan well worth it if you regularly shop from retailers who charge shipping. These savings could add up.

The Best Coupert.com Alternatives

After signing up for Coupert, I think it's one of the top savings platforms out there. And the fact it also offers paid surveys and download offers plus coupons and cash-back deals makes it quite unique.

However, there are plenty of other extensions like Coupert you can also consider, including:

Venmo 10 sign up bonus

I'd suggest starting with Capital One Shopping and Rakuten since these are the two extensions I use the most. But you can try out all of them to find the ones that save you the most.

Is There A Mobile App?

Coupert also has a mobile app on the Google Play store and Apple App store. And you can actually use it when shopping on your phone to still find coupons and earn cash back.

Is There Customer Service?

Like many apps and extensions, Coupert customer service is limited. It has a help section as well as a chatbot that can help you answer many commonly asked questions about Coupert.

If these services do not help you solve your issue, you can contact Coupert via email. The company says it takes 1 to 3 business days usually to receive a reply.

Final Thoughts

I’ve used many different money saving apps and extensions over the years and I definitely think that Coupert has a lot of potential.

The fact you can earn in so many ways is a selling point. Reward variety is also great. So, we suggest giving Coupert a try to see if it works for you.

Owning a vehicle is one of the largest annual expenses a person can have. And out of all types of car expenses, the one that always irks me the most is gas.

I'm sure you can relate. There's just something depressing about dropping $90+ on a refuel and feeling like you have nothing to show for it.

Thankfully, times are changing. Upside is a legit rewards app that lets you earn cash back the next time you refuel or purchase gas station snacks.

This Upside app review is covering how this gas rewards app works, its pros and cons, and what other users are saying so you can decide if it belongs on your smartphone.

Want more fast money-makers? Checkout:

  • EarnIn: Borrow up to $100 a day against an upcoming paycheck without membership fees!
  • Rocket Money: Create a budget and cancel expensive subscriptions with this awesome app!

Key Takeaways:

  • Upside is a free gas rewards app that pays you cash back when refueling
  • The app works with thousands of stations across the United States
  • You claim gas offers, refuel, and take a photo of your receipt to earn
  • Members can also earn cash back on groceries, snacks, and dining purchases
  • You cash out via PayPal, free gift cards, or check

Is Upside Legit?

Upside is legit and has paid over $100,000,000 to users in cash back since its inception. It also has a 4.6 and 4.8 star rating on the Google and Apple App stores, with over 300,000 reviews and plenty of online payment proof.

My advice is to give the app a try if you do a lot of driving to see how much you save the next few weeks of buying fuel.

At the very worst, Upside won't have many gas stations in your area and you can delete the app. But, at its best, Upside can find meaningful savings at the pump, helping to save more money each year.

What Is Upside?

Upside is a free U.S. rewards app for Android and iOS that aims to help people save money at the pump.

The app is basically like Fetch or other common grocery rebate apps, just for gas. If you frequently drive and want a simple way to save more money each month, this app is worth the download.

Upside has also added cash back rewards for groceries, restaurants, and convenience stores. But earning cash back on gas is where this app really shines, so it's an excellent download if you put a lot of miles on your vehicle each week.

???Pro Tip: Save up to $600+ per year on your car insurance by using the free Best Match auto insurance?tool to compare quotes and find cheaper coverage!

?How Does Upside Work?

Saving money on gas with Upside is fairly simple. In fact, you can get started in four?steps?after you've installed the app and created a free account with your email address or Facebook account.

1. Find Local Gas Offers

If you've ever used an app like Ibotta or Checkout 51, Upside works the exact same way. And it currently partners with 12,000+ gas stations across the United States. Some popular gas station partners include:

  • BP
  • Shell
  • Exxon
  • Valero
  • RaceTrac
  • Phillips 66
  • Circle K

Once you open the app, you see local gas station prices, as well as Upside's cashback offers. As you can see in the screenshot below, Upside clearly outlines how much each station pays:This gas finder is a nice way to quickly see which stations are paying the most near you. The app also highlights if there are any in-store cash back offers since Upside often pays you for buying in-store goods like snacks or drinks.

2. Claim Gas Offers & Refuel

Most grocery rebate apps make you claim offers before shopping. Upside is similar, and you have to “claim” gas offers before you refuel and get paid.

Additionally, Upside has two types of offers:

  • Check-In Offers – Some stations let you claim cashback just by visiting a partner gas station and “checking-in” through the mobile app after refueling. These offers must be claimed within 20 minutes after purchasing.
  • Receipt Offers – Most stations require you to upload a receipt to provide proof of purchase. You have four hours to make a purchase after claiming an offer, and 24 hours after purchase to upload your receipt.

Regardless of the claim type,?you can claim up to 50 gallons per offer. You also have to pay with a debit or credit card for Upside to work. Once you successfully check-in or upload an eligible receipt, offers take up to 10 days?to process.

Pro Tip ?? Unlock up to $10,000 in credit by using the value of your car with Yendo! This new credit card lets drivers access more cash by leveraging the value of their vehicle!

3. Earn Cash Back On Groceries & Restaurants

Alongside gas rewards, Upside now lets you earn cash back when you shop at partner grocery stores, restaurants, and convenience stores.

The process is similar to claiming gas offers. In fact, the app highlights food and restaurant deals on the same map so you can find local opportunities to save money:

Upside dining cash back

As you can see in my screenshot, restaurants like McDonald's and Hungry Howie's are paying over 5% cash back, which is a very high rate. And Hungry Howie's is paying 16% cash back!

Gas is still the main way to save money with Upside. But I like that the app has more food and dining partners now to help you get quick money.

4. Earn & Redeem Cashback

Once claims finish processing, you earn cash back in your Upside wallet. You can then cash out with several options, including:

  • PayPal Cash?– A $1 fee applies for amounts under $15. If you refer a friend to Upside, this fee is waived as long as they are active.
  • Free Gift Cards?– Requires a minimum of $10. You must redeem round amounts, so no spare change. All gift card codes are sent electronically.
  • Check –?There is a $1 fee for cashing out under $50.

GetUpside-rewards

In terms of the free gift cards, Upside has a fairly healthy selection. You can redeem gift cards to companies like Amazon, Nike, Home Depot, Starbucks, Target, and Walmart. And I love that the app also offers PayPal cash rewards.

A $10 redemption minimum on gift cards isn't too high either. Just note you need $15 minimum to cash out with PayPal without paying fees. Also note that you generally receive rewards within 24 to 48 hours following redemption.

How Much Does Upside Pay?

In my experience, you can usually earn about $1 to $2 when you refuel and claim an Upside gas offer. If you refuel once or twice per week, this could easily be $10 to $20 a month in free money. And you can earn even more if you claim dining and food offers.

If you drive for your job, Upside can pay even more. Plus, you can even earn referral bonuses by inviting your friends to join the app.

Is Upside Worth It?

Upside is worth using if you drive regularly and want to save money on your monthly gas bill. It can also help you save on gas station snacks and restaurants. In contrast, it's not worth using if you don't have a car or barely drive.

The app now has restaurant offers as well and more ways to earn, but at its core, this is a cash back app for gas. And it's one of the highest-paying apps in this category and works with thousands of stations.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Earn real cash savings
  • Variety of free gift card rewards
  • Claim up to 50 gallons per offer
  • Multiple ways to claim offers
  • Earn meaningful savings on fuel
  • Variety of gas station partners

Cons:

  • Rewards don't always stack with your credit card
  • Not available at every gas station and some states don't really have coverage
  • Cash out fees for PayPal cash and checks
  • Only available in the United States

Other Upside App Reviews

I try to use Upside when I'm in the United States, and I think it's one of the best gas rewards apps out there.

Additionally,Upside has nearly a 5 star rating and more than 300,000 reviews?between the Android and iOS store, which is a great sign. And here's what some other Upside reviews are saying from other users on the Google app store:

  • chantforezkaton2000 says: “This app is super easy to use. You basically just have to tap two buttons… once when you're at the location and once when you finish paying there. Easy.”
  • Angela says: “There is no downside to Upside. The app has done exactly what it says. SUPER easy to use. I have to get gas anyways, might as well get back some $ when I do, especially with how high everything is.”
  • Brad Sturt says: “Great app. Easy to find deals on fuel. It's not a get rich plan, but it's nice when you save up for a bit and have an extra $100 to blow on a rainy day. Super easy to scan receipts and if you tag a card to your account you don't even need to scan a receipt, you just hit the paid button and it does the rest.”
  • Joshua Krutiak says: “I love this app. So far I've only used it for gas, but after a half dozen fill ups I just cashed out $27 in cash back. It's user friendly, very easy.”

Upside app reviews from users

As you can see, users like how easy Upside is to use and how much cash back it pays for gas.

Some negative reviews complain about occasional app glitches or that Upside doesn't stack with various fuel reward programs. However, it's one of the most popular money-making apps in this category.

The Best Apps Like Upside

If you like the idea of earning cash back on gas purchases, you're in luck: there are numerous Upside alternatives you can also experiment with to earn more rewards, including:

Checkout-51

Checkout 51 and Trunow have some of the higher-paying gas offers, but it's worth experimenting with several Upside alternatives to see how much you save.

Also note that you can try using a gas rewards credit card to save on gas. However, this has the potential to nullify your cash back from Upside, so test it out and keep an eye on your wallet balance.

Is The Upside App Safe Or A Scam?

Upside is safe, and according to the company, it “never gets access?to your full credit or debit card number – just the last 4 digits. We take your security very seriously, and never request or view your full credit/debit card information.”

The app isn't a scam either; millions of people have earned cash back by using it and there's plenty of online payment proof.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Stack Rewards With Upside?

According to Upside, you can use their app to earn rewards alongside other methods like a gas rewards credit card or various coupons.

However, Upside also states that: “if you use a rewards card or other promotions, your Upside cash back per gallon will be reduced to account for the cost of the other promotion.”

This is done to prevent you from stacking so many rewards that the gas station ends up losing money. It's still worth stacking, but keep this condition in mind.

How Does The Upside App Make Money?

Upside makes money by charging partner gas stations a small affiliate fee for sending them business. It does the same thing for convenience stores, restaurants, and grocery stores. This helps the company make money while remaining completely free for users.

What Devices Are Supported?

Upside supports iPhone running iOS: v10.0 and newer and Android phones running Android 4.1 and newer.

How Do I Get an Upside Promo Code?

Another easy way to stretch your savings a bit further is to also use a Upside promo code when signing up.

Fortunately, we've got you covered with a $0.25/gal sign-up bonus!

Final Thoughts

No one on this earth enjoys filling up their car. However, spending money on gas in an unfortunate reality unless you own a purely electric vehicle.

Thankfully, apps like Upside make it easier to save money on gas and to also find cheap gas prices in your neighborhood without much effort.

If you use an app like Upside with other frugal habits, like carpooling or using a rewards credit card to always earn cashback, you can probably put a decent dent in your annual fuel costs.
