So if you want to earn money online for free, keep reading as I cover the?ins and outs of each platform to help you find the one (or more than one) that is right for you!
One of the best ways to get paid to do homework is to offer your services on SweetStudy, formerly known as HomeworkMarket.
Getting started on SweetStudy is also super easy!
Once you create your profile, you add your skills and set your homework helper rate so students can hire you to help them with their homework questions.
Students on SweetStudy also upload questions and assignments they need help with.
If you find an assignment you want to complete, you upload your answer to the site with your preferred price. Students can only view complete answers after submitting payment, ensuring you get paid for your help.
And another way to make money with SweetStudy is to become a tutor.
If you want to become a verified tutor, you include a description that outlines your degrees and areas of expertise. This lets you set higher rates and look more appealing to students looking to pay for their homework.
You can choose from many subjects and types of work, including doing homework, proofreading homework, and answering questions for cash.
TutorMe is a little different from getting paid to do homework with SweetStudy since the platform helps students with their learning process.
However, it's still an excellent option for making money as a tutor.
On TutorMe, you can make money as a private tutor for a range of subjects like:
To apply, you submit information about your background, educational experience, and work experience.
You also have to be 18 or older and be enrolled in an accredited university or have already completed your degree.
Overall, this is a great online tutoring job for college students or graduates, and once you're approved as a tutor, you're ready to make some money!
TutorMe alerts you when a student needs help with a subject you teach. If you accept the assignment within 3 minutes, you connect with the student to tutor them after they pay.
The site makes the process fun, as you can communicate with the student via audio/video and use a virtual whiteboard or screen share to help with your lesson.
TutorMe pays $16 per hour as well, making it a great way to make money by doing homework and teaching students about topics they're struggling with.
If you’re a college or university student, then Studypool is a great place for you to get paid doing homework.
You have to write a 200-word essay and go through an interview process on Studypool’s policies to get started, but this process is mostly looking to make sure you’re proficient in English.

Another option to make money doing homework is to work with School Solver.
However, unlike some paid homework gigs that pay you for doing the entire assignment, School Solver doesn't want its tutors to do all of the work.
Rather, the platform lets you answer questions homework questions for cash, but you have to show your work so students can actually learn in the process.
Once you register as a tutor and complete your profile, you complete a quiz on every subject you want to help out with. If you get at least 90% on the quiz, you qualify for that subject.
To make money doing homework, you answer questions students post on School Solver. As mentioned, you have to provide a full explanation or demonstration of how you found the answer. Students can preview the answer but won’t be able to view it fully until they pay you.
Students set how much they're willing to pay for homework answers, so you can decide what questions are worth your time and effort.
School Solver also lets students reach out if they need clarification or are unhappy with the answer. In this case, you have a certain amount of time to respond before the student receives a refund.
The best part about School Solver is that answered questions get moved to its search engine database.
So, if other students need help with similar questions, they can search for it, find your answer, and pay to see it– meaning you can get paid passive income and over for answering a single question!
Reddit might not be the first place you think to go when you’re trying to get paid to do homework, but it might be one of the best!

On r/hwforcash, students post?assignments and explain the subject, assignment details, deadline, and what they're willing to pay for help so you know exactly what you're getting into.
You can respond to listings right on Reddit and get in touch with the student to ask further questions and to arrange payment.
Just note that students can scam you since Reddit is more informal, so be prepared to go through some vetting before the student accepts your offer.

If you’re a writer at heart, you can find students in your area or at your school who need help with their essays.
My university offered a writing center, where tutors would help brainstorm a thesis, build an argument or outline, and also offer revision and editing. It was extremely helpful during my undergrad and lot’s of students could benefit from the same service.
You can also advertise your services on Facebook Marketplace and set your own rates either hourly or per page. I think this is a great side husle for teens as well as college students as long as you're a talented writer.
Overall, the freelance writing route probably makes more money, but working through your school makes getting work easier.
I suggest using the rates from other sites above to make sure you're competitive but also being paid well for your time.

]]>The post Big Cartel vs Etsy – Which Platform Is Best For Sellers? appeared first on WebMonkey.
]]>This is especially true for selling handmade goods, artwork, and crafts to make money online.
Two major websites that are popular amongst small handmade sellers are Etsy and Big Cartel.
But you may be wondering, is Big Cartel better than Etsy?
We’re here to answer this question by breaking down the key features of each platform, as well as the pros and cons to both, so we can end the Etsy vs Big Cartel debate.
Big Cartel began in 2005, and the platform caters to small artists and business owners who want to build a unique store and run their creative business easily.
So, if you sell stuff like artwork, jewelry, pottery, metalwork, woodwork, or anything else with a creative flair, Big Cartel is a good fit.
Big Cartel's goal is to make running an ecommerce store simple while offering minimalist designs and access to great features and support.
You can also integrate your Big Cartel store with Instagram and Facebook, get access to a custom domain, track your shipments, and even offer your shoppers discounts and promotions.
Etsy also began in 2005 and is home to over 4.3 million active sellers of handmade goods, vintage finds, and craft supplies.
Overall, selling on Etsy is very simple, and it's easy to create a listing and Etsy has low listing and transaction fees.
The Etsy marketplace is also massive, with millions of active buyers, and sellers can have their products featured side-by-side in the Etsy marketplace.
Popular products people sell on Etsy include:
You’ll have access to the vast audience of Etsy shoppers, a supportive community of buyers and sellers, as well as many great features to help increase your sales.
Now that you know some basic info about both Big Caretel and Etsy, it’s time to break down the important features.
Keep reading as we discuss pricing & fees, ease of use for sellers, store customization & themes, customer service, and the best products to sell on Big Cartel vs Etsy
The fees you pay on the selling platform you choose can have a big impact on the actual profit you make on your sales.
Things like monthly subscriptions, listing fees, and transaction fees are an important consideration when deciding where to launch your business, so let’s see what this looks like on Etsy vs. Big Cartel.
Big Cartel selling fees are straightforward because there aren't fees for listing products and no transaction fees or commission charged when a sale is made.
Unlike Etsy, Big Cartel charges sellers monthly to run their store, and you can choose between their free and paid plans based on the features that suit your needs.
The Big Cartel subscription plans include:
Different paid plans also have different perks, like adding more images per product listing, implementing Google Analytics, bulk listing editing, and automatic sales tax.
The free plan is still nice because you can customize your theme, get real-time sales stats, use a custom domain name, and offer discounts.
Note: Online payment processors still charge transaction fees, so if you use providers like PayPal or Stripe, you're going to pay fees.
PayPal fees and Stripe fees are usually around 2.9% plus $0.30 USD per transaction, so factor this into your pricing.
Overall, Big Cartel is a pretty inexpensive way to run your own online store.
Plus, you have the option to pay for the plan that is best suited for your needs if you want to sell more than five products.
Etsy’s selling fees are a bit more complicated than Big Cartel since the platform charges both a $0.20 listing fee (renewed every 4 months), a 5% transaction fee and a 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee.
In the short run, this makes Etsy cheaper than selling on Big Cartel since you're just paying a $0.20 listing fee and transaction fees.
However, the transaction fees are higher than Big Cartel since Big Cartel just charges payment processing fees and not that 5% transaction fee.
Ultimately, if you make a few sales per month and run a small shop, Etsy is more affordable than Big Cartel. But if you generate serious sales, Big Cartel becomes more affordable.
It's also worth noting that there's an Etsy Plus plan that costs $10 per month and gives you more customization control over your store, so this can be another fee to factor in.
Winner: Etsy is cheaper than Big Cartel for small stores but Big Cartel becomes more affordable than Etsy for high sales volume.
Another important factor to consider in the Etsy vs Big Cartel debate is how much control you have over your storefront design and branding.
Customizing your storefront helps you stand apart from the competition, which can help you draw in more customers and keep them coming back.
Thankfully, both Big Cartel and Etsy do a decent job at giving you more control over your storefront design.
Big Cartel has numerous themes and templates that you can apply to your online store to begin selling.
The best part about Big Cartel's themes is that you don’t need to know much about HTML to create a beautiful storefront you love.
Big Cartel also has a minimalist feel for many themes, and here's an example of what one Big Cartel store looks like to get an idea:
As you can see with this store, the sidebar neatly displays different categories, and there's also a product list for customers to quickly shop from.
The themes are still quite diverse however, so Big Cartel shops don't all look the same.
For example, here's another Big Cartel shop example that sells pottery and ceramics:
It’s easy to change simple features like your logo, font, colour scheme, and a few other items, but certain design changes and customization will require some HTML knowledge.
Overall, Big Cartel customization is simple, and you don't need any coding knowledge which is nice.
The process is kind of similar to using an ecommerce platform like Sellfy, which lets you start an online store in just five minutes.
Etsy gives sellers less customization options and control over how their storefront looks, which is a potential disadvantage versus using Big Cartel.
As an Etsy seller, you really only have control over your colours, fonts, display photo, banner photo, and store description.
Granted, you're selling on a marketplace, so Etsy wants stores to have a uniform design so buyers have a consistent experience.
Here's an example of what an Etsy store looks like:
You can pay for Etsy Plus for $10 per month to get more control over your design.
For example, with Etsy Plus, you can feature your top selling product prominently in your storefront, but it still doesn't compare to designing your own site with Big Cartel.
Overall, Etsy has a marketplace feel whereas selling on Big Cartel is more like selling through Shopify or Sellfy and running your own storefront.
Winner: Big Cartel’s customization features and beautiful themes are easy to use and allow your store to stand out.
You want your sales platform to be pretty intuitive and easy to use, so you’re not running into trouble setting up your store or accessing certain features.
Big Cartel is one of the easiest ways to start selling online, and this is why many sellers start out with this ecommerce platform.
You can start up your store with the help of a step by step guide, which even shows you how to list your first item.
It’s easy to customize your storefront using their many features and all of your sales and products can be easily accessed through an easily navigated central dashboard.
You don't have to be very technically knowledgeable either; Big Cartel doesn't take long to set up and begin selling, even if you've never sold anything online before!
Etsy is one of the easiest to use sales platforms available today since they take all of the stress of website design and marketing away from you.
Uploading products is easy, you just have to fill in the required info and add some photos and you’re ready to sell!
Bringing in new customers is also easier than Big Cartel since all of your items are displayed in the marketplace and if you want to boost sales, you can simply pay a bit of money and have Etsy market your products for you.
Winner: Both Big Cartel and Etsy are incredibly beginner-friendly ways to begin selling stuff online.
You might also want to consider what people look for when they shop on Etsy vs Big Cartel, as your products might be better suited to one platform over another.
Big Cartel primarily targets artists who create original prints, clothing, pottery, jewelry, as well as other creative mediums.
Its website even states that Big Cartel provides “easy online stores for artists and makers.”
Examples of products that suit a Big Cartel shop include:
Now, there are two disadvantages to selling on Big Cartel versus Etsy that you should know about.
Firstly, Big Cartel requires integrating with Pulley to sell digital products from your store, and Pulley costs $6 per month.
In contrast, you can sell digital products like digital stickers, ebooks, or digital prints on Etsy without paying extra.
Secondly, Big Cartel isn't a marketplace, so when you list your products for sale, you can't rank on a central marketplace where millions of buyers can find your products.
This is the main disadvantage to selling with your own website versus selling on marketplaces like Etsy or even with popular selling platforms like eBay or Mercari.
Etsy is divided into many different niches and product categories, where some do a lot better than others.
Here are some of the best selling item categories in on Etsy in 2021, according to Cedcommerce:
And, as mentioned, the major difference between Esty and Big Cartel is that Etsy is a marketplace, so buyers can find your products organically.
If you don't have much time to promote your store on social media or with SEO or paid ads, this is a massive advantage to selling on Etsy instead of Big Cartel.
You can also read my post on Etsy passive income for some of the top Etsy products to sell and tips for scaling your shop.
Winner: Etsy has more product variety, digital downloads, and lets buyers find your products organically thanks to the marketplace.
Owning a business can be tough, so the last thing you want is technical difficulties getting in your way.
It’s helpful to know that if you run into an issue setting up your store, or if anything goes wrong during a sale, there’s a team who’s ready to help you out.
You also want your customers or potential customers to have access to customer support as well so you're not leaving unhappy or confused customers in the dark.
Big Cartel’s customer support team is available via email during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 9AM-6PM EST).
The hours are definitely a little inconvenient, however, during service periods their team is very quick to respond and find resolutions to any seller or customer problems that are going on.
Etsy has gone above and beyond to provide help for new and old sellers alike.
You can live chat or call to speak with their live agents at any time and they are always super friendly and helpful, no matter what the issue is.
They also have a wide range of resources available for sellers, including guidebooks for selling, online communities, and even tutorials you can watch.
They’re committed to making the Etsy experience enjoyable for both buyers and sellers on the platform.
Winner: Etsy has the most accessible and well-rounded customer support available.
No ecommerce platform is an island, and you often need to integrate third-party software with your storefront to handle a specific task.
Etsy and Big Cartel differ in their integration partners, so let's cover each one down below!
Big Cartel integration options include:
Since Zapier is an integration, you can also connect Big Cartel with thousands of other apps, so there really isn't a weak point here.
I do wish some email marketing providers like ConvertKit were natively integrated, but this is just a small negative.
Etsy shop integrations include:
Overall, integrations are similar between Etsy and Big Cartel, although one advantage of Big Cartel over Etsy is that it integrates with Zapier.
Winner: Big Cartel has slightly more integrations and also works with Zapier.

Figuring out where to sell online can be difficult, even after comparing all of the features of Etsy and Big Cartel.
So, here's how you can choose the right ecommerce platform for your online business.
Big Cartel is ideal if you sell physical art products at high volumes since you don't pay as many transaction fees as you do with Etsy.
Additionally, if you sell five products or fewer, you can use Big Cartel's free program and establish an online website that's brandable and unique.
The main downside of selling with Big Cartel is that you have to drive your own website traffic since there isn't a marketplace, so keep this in mind!
Etsy is superior to Big Cartel if you want to leverage the marketplace feature and have buyers find you organically.
It's also superior if you sell digital products since Big Cartel requires a paid integration to let you do this.
Etsy can get expensive with listing and transaction fees, but if you get more buyers organically from the marketplace, this helps justify the expense.
It's probably unlikely that you'll sell on both Big Cartel and Etsy, but there are some scenarios where this makes sense.
For example, you can always use Big Cartel to sell some of your top products and then list digital products or less popular sellers on Etsy.
Etsy is probably the faster route to getting sales since buyers can find you organically, but at the end of the day, you can expand your selling channels as your business scales.
I hope this Big Cartel vs Etsy breakdown helps you choose the right platform to power your online sales.
Again, there are so many options out there to choose from; the important part is just starting.
At the end of the day, you can sell on Etsy, Big Cartel, or launch an ecommerce store with platforms like Sellfy or Shopify.
Etsy is probably best for beginners due to the marketplace potential, but again, don't be afraid to explore several options!
Best of luck!

]]>But, did you know it's also possible to make money using Reddit?
Reddit, also referred to as “The front page of the internet,” hosts 330 million active users, and it actually has an incredible amount of opportunity to make money online.
As long as you know the right subreddits to join, there are numerous ways to make money on Reddit and start profitable new side hustles or even land new jobs!
The main way to make money on Reddit involves joining different subs where money-making opportunities and legit online jobs get posted. But you can also use Reddit as a traffic source to promote an online business or service you offer and make money that way.
One of the easiest ways to make money on Reddit is to join niche communities like r/Beermoney to find ways to make a bit of extra cash every month.
The sub contains a list of useful resources about money-making topics like:
The community of over 900k users is always available to help with certain tasks and give advice on the best ones to complete.
Some users have even made hundreds of dollars a month completing Beermoney tasks, and there's a monthly “Who Paid You” thread where people share what platforms are paying the most and tips to maximize earnings.
Beermoney is actually where Tom learned about phone farming and making money with GPT websites, so this sub alone has earned Tom several hundred dollars!
Transparency is definitely the best part about r/Beermoney since users share their experiences with different companies, so you can choose ones that pay well.
If you want to learn more about this subreddit, you can also read our interview with two leading r/Beermoney members and their thoughts on the world of beermoney.
In September 2023, Reddit announced its Contributor Program, letting members earn real money in exchange for creating quality posts on the platform.
This new program pays you the more karma and gold you get on your posts and comments. So, you can potentially turn your opinions and comments into actual cash.
The program is still rolling out. Currently, it's only available in the United States to members who are 18 or older. You also need over 100 karma and over 10 gold within the last 12 months.
The standard payout rate varies between $0.90 and $1 per one gold you receive depending on your status this program has tiers. Again, it's a new program, but it's exciting that Reddit is letting users earn real money now for being valuable members.
Another effective way to make money using Reddit is to leverage it as a traffic source for your blog or online business.
In fact, if your goal is to direct more free traffic to your website or blog, then Reddit is a great place to find a community of people that may be interested in what you’re writing about.
The first step is to find the audience that will be interested in your content. Once you find relevant subreddits, you can share your best content there to get more eyeballs on your work.
Reddit is also how WebMonkey generates some of its traffic. In fact, over the last few months, over 2,000 users have come from Reddit to read content on WebMonkey.
This directly generates revenue from Reddit since WebMonkey runs Mediavine ads and also has affiliate links.
Granted, this is a small amount of traffic, but if you can get a post to go semi-viral on Reddit, you can potentially get thousands of tens of thousands of new visitors to your website.

If you're looking for more serious ways to sell your skills online and start an online career, r/WorkOnline is for you.
This subreddit shares money-making opportunities you can do online, with a specific focus on longer term jobs and side hustles like:
You can also find posts on making money with a blog or YouTube channel, as well as other online business ideas.
Finally, r/WorkOnline also has tips for how to begin a remote job search, and there's usually a monthly thread on the best remote job websites or companies that are currently hiring remote workers.
The options are pretty much endless– you can even find full-time job opportunities if you’re looking to stay remote but want a bit more stability.
While Redditors usually shy away from heavy marketing, that doesn’t mean you can’t build a community around a product or brand that you own.
Becoming a credible Redditor is the first step to doing this, as you’ll want to grow your Karma (which you earn by getting upvotes) in order to have people trust the things you post.
Authenticity is key here, otherwise users will see right through your postings and your efforts will be for nothing. Once you’re involved in relevant subreddits, add value to the community by sharing your insight and advice on other people's posts.
Finally, after establishing your credibility, create content that promotes your own product or service to get free traffic to your landing pages. Here's an example from r/Passive_Income.
In this thread, the original poster shares the different income streams they use to generate $12,000 in passive income per month. They provide a lot of value, tips, and transparency to help other Redditors.
But, they also link out to a SaaS company they own and their YouTube channel, essentially self-promoting assets they own to 179,000 people. Talk about free, genius marketing!
Many of the best ways to make money on Reddit involve learning about earning opportunities or finding companies that are currently hiring.
In contrast, on r/ForHire, you can get hired by people on Reddit and actually make money by working with your fellow Redditors!
In a nutshell, r/ForHire lets you post “hiring” posts that advertise a position you're trying to fill or “for hire” posts, which state your skills and that you're open to work.
So, you can start by posting a “for hire” post to see if any potential employers want to work with you. Alternatively, look for “hiring” posts where you're a good fit.
Many of the jobs on r/ForHire are for programmers, but you can also find jobs for:
New jobs get posted all the time, so if you're still wondering how to make money on Reddit, I'd scan this sub every day for new opportunities.
If you want to learn how to create passive income, the r/Passive_Income subreddit is one of the best ways to earn money using Reddit.
This community has over 179,000 members who share ideas, proof, and lessons about creating passive income streams.
Some of the most common topics include:
r/Passive_Income is also a great way to make money on Reddit since it contains a lot of niche business ideas, like running a vending machine business or selling online courses.
Overall, you won't find ways to make money fast on r/Passive_Income, but it's the best sub if you want to earn residual income.
Since Reddit is full of niche communities, one of the best ways to make money using Reddit is to sell stuff you own to different collectors in these groups.
In fact, Reddit actually has tons of buy-and-sell groups you can turn to for selling or swapping things like:
Now, these marketplaces are informal, so it's similar to selling stuff on places like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. In other words, you need to communicate with buyers and broker your own deal.
But if you have a lot of niche things to sell, this is one of the most lucrative ways you can make money with Reddit.
Like r/ForHire, r/freelance_forhire lets you find freelancing opportunities to start making money online as a beginner.
The subreddit has over 17,000 freelancers and employers, and it's ideal for finding work in fields like:
You can browse postings or market your skills in a post of your own– either way, you’re bound to find the right opportunity for you!
If you’re just getting started in your freelancing industry or you’re working in a country where a few dollars per day is good pay, r/SlaveLabour could be a great way to make money with Reddit.
The jobs on r/SlaveLabour are below market rate, so it's a subreddit that caters to people looking to make casual work online, not a full income.
That said, if you're trying to build your portfolio or want to complete micro tasks for money, this is a decent sub to start out with.
What's cool about r/SlaveLabour is that people bid on job postings, so it's quite competitive but there are also plenty of daily job postings.
Again, the downside to this sub is that you're getting underpaid for your work. But, if you want to make money quickly online and get your foot in the door, it's a viable way to make money on Reddit.
And, the job postings cover just about any type of work, so don’t hesitate to market your skills or browse the subreddit for opportunities.

If you're a graphic designer who's looking to make extra cash, r/DesignJobs is one of the best money subreddits to turn to.
People post all sorts of design jobs, ranging from logo designs to complete website redesigns or animation work.
What's cool is that moderators heavily screen job postings, and jobs must pay at least $20/hr.
If you’re looking to find real work opportunities with good pay–and potentially build your client base– this is a great subreddit to check out.
Another one of my favorite ways to make money on Reddit is to find writing gigs on r/HireAWriter.
Like other freelance-based subreddits, r/HireAWriter is perfect if you want to find writing jobs to make money online.
It doesn’t matter what type of writing you can do or like doing, there will definitely be endless opportunities for you here.
For example, some popular writing gigs include:
There's nearly 55,000 members on this sub, and while most of the posts are for people looking for work, you can potentially find your next writing gig and some long-term clients on this sub!

Most ways to make money on Reddit involve selling your skills for PayPal cash or direct payment through another payment processor.
However, with r/Jobs4Bitcoin, you can find a variety of online gigs and get paid with Bitcoin instead.
This is basically a freelancing job board, except it's full of crypto fans. If getting paid in Bitcoin is your goal, this is the best method to make money with Reddit there is.
Examples of some current jobs on r/Jobs4Bitcoin include:
As you can see, there's actually some pretty serious technical jobs on this sub, so it might lead to an exciting new career that's also involved in crypto.
If you're looking for some free money, the r/SignupsForPay subreddit is another easy way to make money by using Reddit.
That's because this subreddit features postings that offer the most mindless way to make a bit of extra cash: signing up for things.
For example, a lot of reward apps and investing platforms pay you instant sign up bonuses for trying them, so you can test out several services and earn some quick cash.
Posts indicate the amount you get from the program you’re signing up for, so it's easy to know what you're signing up for and how much money you can make.

If you’re a programmer looking to build your portfolio and make some extra money on Reddit, then r/ProgrammingTasks is for you.
According to the sub's About Community tab, this sub is “sort of like /r/slavelabour but focused on tasks related to programming and data.”
So, if you want to make small amounts of cash in your spare time, it's a good place to look for work.
The tasks are all relatively small and shouldn’t take up much time, so it’s the perfect way to make some extra money in your free time or fill your day and boost your income.
While this method isn't technically allowed on Reddit, but it happens all the time nevertheless.
So, why do people buy Reddit accounts?
Well, as mentioned, Karma is the running currency on Reddit, and it can take a lot of active, meaningful engagement to build it up. You can also gain more Karma the longer your account has been active. This means that Reddit accounts with high Karma can have a high price tag for businesses looking to use it for marketing purposes.
Users are more likely to trust a longstanding account with a lot of Karma vs. a brand new one that is clearly run by a bot.
If this is you, and you don’t mind saying goodbye to your account forever, then maybe consider using a platform like Player Up to sell it for a good price.
A few thousand Karma points will get you in the $40-$60 range, while an account with tens of thousands of Karma points can get you a few hundred dollars.
It's definitely possible to make money using Reddit, and you can find direct and indirect ways to monetize this popular social forum. Just keep in mind, you can find a mix of part-time and full-time opportunities on Reddit or use it to promote your own online business, so there's a lot of opportunity here.
Now, if you're looking for some tips on how to make money on Reddit, here's some advice to keep in mind:

Reddit has tons of money making opportunities, despite the fact that the site will never actually pay you directly. But if you want to earn money with Reddit, the first step is to decide how you want to do it.
If your preference is easy tasks or signups, then focus your energy there. In contrast, if you have some professional skills and are looking for work, then find the forums best suited to you and start marketing your skills and building your portfolio.
Most importantly, get involved on the site and find the communities that are most relevant to you.
By building your Karma, you can open doors and build trust with other Redditors, which is especially useful if you want to grow an audience and market your already existing business.
Reddit can be confusing and somewhat overwhelming at first, but don’t give up. Once you become a seasoned Redditor, you’ll be swimming in online money making opportunities and you’ll never want to leave!

]]>Now, if you're a serious gamer, you can actually make money by playing video games to turn your favorite hobby into a nice little side hustle.
Thanks to Gamehag, you can now earn free video games, gift cards, skins, and a range of prizes for playing premium titles on your PC or mobile phone.
But is Gamehag legit? And how much does this gaming rewards platform actually pay?
I signed up for Gamehag to find out. And my Gamehag review is sharing how the platform works, what other users have to say, and how to decide if it's worth using.
Want even more ideas to make money? Checkout:
Gamehag is a get-paid-to-play website that rewards you for playing games and completing a range of tasks within those games.
If you already use apps that pay you to play games like Mistplay or Cash Giraffe, you'll be pretty familiar with how Gamehag works.
However, unlike most gaming reward apps that are mobile-only, Gamehag also works on PC. This means you can make money with your laptop or desktop computer, not just a mobile device.
Plus, this platform offers an insane number of games you can play, plus some premium titles which is a major win.
The reward variety is also fantastic, and you can earn free Steam games, gift cards, cool Counter Strike skins, and even redeem major titles for free to expand your gaming collection.
Yes, Gamehag is legit and pays out its users. It has plenty of positive reviews, and there's also lots of payment proof online from happy users. If you play games through its website, you slowly earn Soul Gems that you can redeem for a variety of rewards.
Additionally, it's also a pretty strong altenative to other online side hustles in the space like Gamekit, which also pays you for playing PC games.
Most websites that pay you for playing games are fairly similar to one another and don't have the greatest game selection.
However, Gamehag has definitely gone above most of the competition when you look at what kind of games you can play.
Plus, the platform has gone the extra mile to make the user experience fun and enjoyable, with their own story line and a focus on community interaction.
I signed up to try out Gamehag and to learn how the platform works.
Overall, it's a pretty simple platform that pays you to play games. However, it has so many ways to earn Soul Gems, the platform's currency, which you can then redeem for a variety of rewards.
Let's take a look at all of Gamehag's earning methods and what to expect.
The main way to make money with Gamehag is to download and play new games from its partners to earn Soul Gems.
By downloading and playing a game you can earn anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand Soul Gems, depending on the offer attached.
You can find ones to play in the “Games” menu, where you see all the information about the games and access your news feeds and forums where you can chat with other players.
Each game also indicates what you will have to complete in order to claim the reward.
This can be anything from reaching a certain level, completing a quest or finishing several tasks within the game. Platforms like Scrambly and Money Well have similar requirements, so this is pretty standard.
Some games have multiple levels of earnings within them, so once you access one level of earnings, you can move on to another goal within the game that will get you even more.
It’s important to note that all of these will take several hours of game play to complete, so you definitely have to enjoy gaming and be devoted to the process in order to collect any Soul Gems.
Contracts are collections of small tasks you can do to earn rewards, but most of these are instant and only take a few minutes.
These can be anything from connecting a social media account, following Gamehag on Instagram, watching ads for money, signing up for a site, or joining their Discord server.
Most tasks you complete pay immediately, but a few of them (like surveys for example) will take a few days to have the Soul Gems appear in your account.
It’s important to keep track of the tasks you do and track your earnings. If gems you were supposed to earn don’t show up in your account after a week, you should contact support to get it sorted.
It's important to note that the amount of Soul Gems you will get for doing a survey is nowhere near the amount you will get from higher paying survey sites like Branded Surveys and Prolific.
If you enjoy doing surveys then go for it– but you earn a lot more if you spend your time playing the games.
Another easy way to make money with Gamehag is to just use the website frequently.
There's actually rewards you can get for logging in consistently– for example, you can earn 20 Soul Gems if you log in on 7 consecutive days.
Not bad if you're a frequent gamer!
Another really cool feature Gamehag offers is to earn Soul Gems for writing articles about gaming topics or specific games on their website.
Each article earns experience points (xp) which get you closer to advancing levels. And every new level you reach earns you more Soul Gems.
Articles typical focus on game reviews, walkthroughs, or other gaming related content.
However, if you want to make money with creative writing or freelance writing and love video games, this could be pretty fun!
Just know, it's not super lucrative, as you usually earn about 250 Soul Gems depending on the article.
Plus, there are also super specific requirements you have to meet in order to have it approved and get your earnings.
If you're not a big writer but like to read about gaming, you can also earn a few Soul Gems by voting on posted articles.
Extra Reading – How To Write Reviews For Money.
One simple way to earn more Soul Gems is to be an active member on the Gamehag forums.
Contributing to forum discussion also earns xp points, which can help you advance levels and earn more in the future.
It’s good to keep this in mind if you’re trying to maximize your earnings on the site, but only 5 of your posts will contribute to points.
Gamehag codes are reward codes you can enter in your account to earn bonus Soul Gems, just like that!
You can sometimes find Gamehag codes from associated YouTubers, streamers, and other places online which will give you access to chests that have extra rewards.
Sometimes ,users post codes in the Gamehag forums, so keep an eye out for those. Occasionally, there's a specific Soul Gem requirement, where you need to have already earned to redeem the offer.
To enter a Gamehag code you just go to your inventory and can then unlock whatever is inside.
Gamehag rewards you with Soul Gems for every active member that you refer to the site.
You have your own referral code that you can send to your friends and once that person has earned 1,000 Soul Gems themselves, you get some Soul Gems as well!
Unfortunately, you have to refer 10 active users before collecting 250 Soul Gems, which isn’t much considering how many friends you have to get to actually be active on the platform.
If you have 10 friends you think may be interested, it could be worth a shot– but this isn't the best referral bonus out there.
The main way to redeem your Soul Gems is for prizes and free video games.
However, you can also put your Soul Gems towards weekly, monthly, and daily Steam chests, which give you the chance to win games and rewards at much cheaper prices.
Giveaways are another opportunity to earn free prizes with Gamehag, including free games and Steam keys.
Gamehag runs giveaways every week and they all have limited spots, so keep an eye on the countdown to see when the next giveaway starts.
To enter the giveaways, you often need a minimum level on Steam– so be sure to check the details and make sure you qualify before entering.
The info page also tells you what prizes you can win and what tasks you need to complete before qualifying.
Upgrading your Gamehag status to VIP costs you $4 a month, but unlock the potential to earn 10% more soul gems, get cheaper rewards, and you get free chests every month.
While it’s great that the membership is cheap, there’s plenty of GPT sites that upgrade your status just for being an active member.
If you’re really dedicated to Gamehag you might benefit from going VIP, but definitely track your earnings to make sure you’re getting your money's worth.
One of Gamehag's greatest strength is undeniably its selection of games.
There's so many genres to choose from, including MMO, RPG, Strategy, Arcade, Puzzle, War games, Trivia, and more!
Plus, some popular games you can choose from include:
The fact that you can make money playing video games and actually get to play enjoyable, major titles is frankly pretty awesome.
Just remember to launch the game through the site and create a new account, otherwise your gameplay won’t count towards your earnings.
Once again, Gamehag is best if you like playing games because most of the rewards are game related. There are some gift card options, like Amazon or Mastercard, but no cash out feature with PayPal.
Currently, Gamehag rewards include:
Being able to unlock premium games like Skyrim or The Witcher is, frankly, one of the best parts about Gamehag's reward system.
If you don’t see a specific game you like, Gamehag recommends contacting ‘Misty’ (the chat assistant for the site) in your friends list and recommending the reward you want to see if they can arrange it.
Extra Reading – Game Apps That Pay You Through PayPal.
Since you can’t technically earn cash on Gamehag, you have to measure earning potential in terms of games, gift cards, and Steam dollars you can redeem. And most users can probably earn $5 to $10 per month in rewards if they spend time gaming every week and put in some effort.
However, the amount of Soul Gems you earn also varies depending on what games and tasks are available to you, and what the payout is.
For starters, low effort tasks payout very little, while the higher paying tasks can take hours or days to complete depending on what the goal is– which isn’t always worth the amount of Soul Gems they’re offering.
In terms of rewards, the amount you can redeem is somewhat low compared to the Soul Gems it takes to purchase them.
Also, it can be hard to connect an exact dollar value to Soul Gems as $10 in prepaid gift cards will cost you a different amount than $10 for another reward.
If we calculate it in terms of Steam wallet codes–which will cost you 5299 soul gems for a $10 Steam gift card– writing an article that pays 250 Soul Gems is only around $0.50.
You could get a lot more writing articles for blogs or completing surveys on a reputable survey site, so it doesn’t really seem worth the time.
Ultimately, I think Gamehag can earn a couple dollars per hour at best if you focus on the highest paying tasks.
This isn't going to beat getting a second job or app based jobs, but hey, if you like gaming this is basically free money for doing something you love.
Pros:
Cons:
I signed up for Gamehag to try it out before writing this review. Overall, I think it's a fun side hustle you can try out if you already spend time PC gaming.
However, one of the best ways to tell if a side hustle is worth it or not is to see what other people have to say.
Thankfully, there are plenty of Gamehag reviews on forums like Reddit where fellow gamers share their experiences:
As you can see, other users think Gamehag is legit but that it doesn't pay very much. And one user reports difficulties with cashing out, which isn't great news.
This Gamehag review and video Tom made on the best ways to play video games for money shares more information about how Gamehag works and what to expect.
Overall, Gamehag is just a gaming side hustle idea at the end of the day. It's not a full-time online job or way to make $200 a day or anything even close to a full-time income.

After testing out Gamehag, I think it's one of the better platforms out there if you enjoy PC gaming.
However, if you like the idea of earning rewards for playing games, some Gamehag alternatives you can check out include:
Tom also made a video on some legit cash games you can try out if you want to make money while trying different games.
Gamekit is the closest alternative out there, so I'd begin your search there if you want more gaming outlets.
You can also use apps like Mistplay and JustPlay if you prefer mobile gaming, although Gamehag has a new mobile games section now to cater to those gamers as well.
Just note, none of these platforms are serious earners, but rather fun side gigs.
Gamehag is available for desktop and for Android and IOS!
This is super convenient as you have access to tasks and contracts wherever and whenever you have internet access. Just note, you obviously can't play premium desktop games on your phone, so it's still best to use Gamehag on your computer.
Gamehag states that rewards usually arrive within 10 minutes to 72 hours. However, Gamehag has 30 days to fulfill rewards.
Yes, Gamehag is 100% free to use! As mentioned, you can upgrade to VIP membership status, but this isn't a requirement to earn rewards.
No, Gamehag isn't a scam, and this website lets you earn gaming rewards for downloading and playing different games. You don't have to spend money to make money with the platform either.
Of course, like other beermoney sites, Gamehag won't make you rich. But this is a legit website that pays users, and there is plenty of payment proof online and positive reviews.
The idea is to earn prizes while you play games you enjoy, not to create enough income to quit your day job. So, in short, Gamehag isn't a scam, it's just a fun, humble side hustle idea you can try if you like gaming!
Overall, if you’re looking to get rich or make rewards fast– Gamehag probably isn’t for you.
However, if you love video games and want the chance at earning some free games and prizes, then you might as well give it a try.
After all, if you're already playing games that are available on Gamehag, you might as well turn your gaming into a small source of passive income.
Personally, I stick with apps like Cash Giraffe and platforms like Swagbucks at the moment. But Gamehag is one of the top platforms if you only play games on PC.
And who knows, you could even earn enough to buy the latest game release for free!
Thanks for reading! I hope our Gamehag review helps you understand how to make the most out of the time you spend gaming.

It's sometimes hard to find steady work as a creative writer versus just regular freelance writing. Creative writing contests on the other hand…now these are pretty common!
Much like other passions and hobbies, there is an entire competitive side to creative writing, one which offers publicity and large cash prizes to those who dominate it.
A good place to start is Writer's Digest magazine. It runs several competitions throughout the year to cover different styles of creative writing, including poetry, e-books, short stories, and personal essays.
Don’t see your genre? No problem! Try entering their Annual Writing Competition, where anything goes!
The grand prize winner receives $5,000 cash and an interview in the magazine, and there are also pretty great payouts for 1st-10th place winners in each of the many categories.

Tom actually won a writing contest or two back in school. So this is also a great side hustle for teens or college students.
While it might seem intimidating to take a crack at publishing your own book, you actually have a few options here.
For starters, you can always try the traditional publishing route or simply publish short stories.
Alternatively, you can take your best story and work to expand it into a fully-fledged novel. Amazon is one great selling platform for indie writers, especially if you know how to market yourself and make sales.
If your book becomes a hit on Amazon, you could be looking at some serious passive income while you work on your next writing project.
Note: if you go down this route and want to keep yourself afloat while trying to finish your book, I suggest looking into gig economy apps or considering a second job.

Another way to make money with creative writing is to start your own blog and to grow it as an income source.
Now, this is definitely harder than writing a niche blog, following strict SEO, and approaching a blog like a business. However, it's possible to make money blogging through a variety of methods, and you don't necessarily need thousands of monthly visitors to make money…a small and devout following that like your stories might be pretty powerful!
For example, WebMonkey makes $20,000 a month or more through a mixture of display ads and affiliate income:
The above screenshot is a snapshot of advertisement revenue for WebMonkey from Mediavine, a premium ad-network for bloggers.
This might be tough to reach with a blog that just focuses on creative writing, but you can make money with other sources like affiliate marketing, subscriptions, and selling your own book.
So, if you can be patient and work hard, there's money to be made from blogging, especially if you’re putting out good content and attracting the right audience.

Ready to start blogging? I suggest using SiteGround for your blog hosting because they're affordable and the same host I use (and love) for all of my websites.

There are so many online articles that you can easily find one geared to your interests or writing style. Cracked.com and The Onion will publish humour pieces, and offer a good platform to increase visibility as well.
Longreads accept well-written non-fictional stories that can be relatable for others, and they pay very well for publications.

Breaking into the world of TV writing is tough, but if you have a knack for it then it could be your chance at a big break.
Beyond your writing skills, it’s good to have extensive knowledge of television history. You need to be an expert in the genre you’re writing for and know why other shows in that genre either failed or succeeded.
There’s also a lot of work that you’ll need to do before landing a show. Take master classes, enter TV writing competitions, and network with industry professionals. All of these things will give you a leg up in the working world.
Once you feel ready, you should write a speculative script– otherwise known as a spec script– which is basically a script that is not commissioned by a network.
One final way to get paid for creative writing is to get into copywriting, which is essentially writing for advertising.
There’s an end goal involved, which is usually to make a sale for a product or service or to tell a better brand story. Companies hire copywriters all the time for things like website redesign, advertising copy help, and creating brochures or marketing material.
The great thing about working as a copywriter is that you can work your way up to an insane hourly rate. I mean, checkout this copywriter salary data from Payscale.
The median hourly rate is awesome, but the top percentile of copywriters can make an amazing salary.
To get started, you can find gigs on freelancer marketplaces like Fiverr, People Per Hour, and Upwork. You can also check out FlexJobs since it has thousands of high-paying, flexible remote gigs, including copywriting ones.
It’s important to note that these platforms are super competitive, so you have to be good at selling yourself and be prepared to charge competitive prices for your work (which may be a lot less than you’re used to).
The upside is that once you’re well established in the community, you can be pickier with what work you take and will have the ability to manage your own schedule.

Creative writing is often done for artistic purposes or for personal enjoyment, and is usually subject to literary themes and typical storytelling structures. Content writing, on the other hand, is intended to be consumable and persuasive to a specific targeted audience.
This form of writing has to be clear, concise, and easy for the reader to consume. Oftentimes, content writing jobs also require understanding SEO.
Because of this, it usually involves strict rules or guidelines to follow, in terms of tone and structure, with less room for creativity.
Typically, content writers are contracted to develop content for advertisements, blogs, branding, and more– with the general goal being measurable results in terms of visibility, traffic, and profit.
If you’re a more creatively inclined writer, you may be worried that you are confining yourself to a life as a starved artist.
There are so many ways to sell your skills online as a creative writer….it’s all about finding the right avenue for your specific talents and to find work that makes you happy.
While some creative writing jobs are definitely more lucrative than others, you can definitely get yourself some steady earnings if you devote your energy into any of the above options.
Regardless of what option you choose, the main takeaway is just to get writing.
Having a good portfolio– no matter what the contents are– will not only make you a more viable option when applying for positions, but it’s guaranteed to make you better at writing.
Hopefully, this guide has helped you figure out how to make money with creative writing.
